The painting depicts a scene in a music hall. There are two male and two female dancers doing a high kick on the right side and an orchestra playing music that is close to the viewer. Also there are some audiences hidden in the background.

Also the use of their complementary colors emphasizes this quality. This also echos the subject of the painting: Parisians at leisure. It’s typical of this period. Seurat approached this painting in a scientific manner under the influence of the developing science and technology. Also he studied color in an analytical manner. What’s more, he studied optics and color theory to create Pointillism.
