George Washington Farewell Speech Analysis

“If the freedom of speech is taken away then dumb and silent we may be led, like sheep to the slaughter”. George Washington served most of his life in the Military and lead the Continental Army to multiple victories which had an enormous significance in getting France involved in the war for their independence. However, Washington wrote his “Farewell Address” at the end of second term of his presidency stating that he will no longer serve as the president of the United States America. But why?
