President George W. Bush did something very important that has marked the United States hisorty. On March 19, 2003 he announced that war against Iraq had begun. In the primary document : Bush Declares War, the President gives a brief explaintion to the country into why he declared war with Iraq. He begain his justification for the war by explaining to all fellow citizens so everyone was aware. He started off by saying that the "country was in the early stages of military operations to disarm Iraq , to free its people and to defend the world from grave danger". In other words, not to cause harm but to actually defend us. He was very wise by also saying in global television that there were more then 35 countries that were giving crucial support. Supporting us with the use of naval and air bases , to help with intelligence and logistics. Saying this to calm the American citizens and no one gets scared of the fact that our country was at war. So our citizens are alert that we had support from other military's as well to help the people defending us. No matter how much he wanted to calm the American citizens there was a fact that couldnt be changed and there was no nice way of explaining it. In the six phrase of the document he cleared stated the conflict America was facing. He explained " American faces an enemy who has no regard for conventions of war or rules of morality. Saddam Hussein has placed Iraqi troops and equipements in civilan areas , attempting to use innocent men, woman and children as shields for his own military". In other words, Iraq did not care about anyone. They would use innocent people in order to defend themselves. Something Preident George W. Bush thought was horrible. He finished off by saying that America was at war with Iraq but not trying to disrespect their citizens or going against the religion they pratice. Basically saying we ( Americans) did not care about their believes. He put no fear in our hearts he
