George Washington
George Washington was a very famous role model in the 1700’s and still is today. George was born on February 22, 1732 and he died on December 14, 1799. He died in Mount Vernon Virginia due to a serious case of a throat infection. George accomplished many things as a president. On April 22, 1793 George Washington issued the proclamation of neutrality. This helped the nation to avoid involvement with the foreign conflict making things neutral. Also George Washington stopped the whiskey rebellion. George was the first founding father to free his slaves and established a cabinet.
There are also many things that we do not know about our countries first president George Washington. George was the first president in history to have been unanimously elected receiving all 69 votes on the Electoral College, giving the fact that he was the first president. Georges first set of dentures were made of cow’s teeth, his second pair of dentures were made of hippopotamus and ivory. George also joined the British army when he was 14 years old. He had a parrot named Polly; 36 dogs; and 14 horses as his family pets. He also had weaknesses as the president just like every elected president. One weakness that really stood out was that he was too young to understand military facts of being a commander.
George had Legacies and bridges too. George was a very successful leader of the fight of independence. He was the first to sign the constitution and he was the first president of the United States. Washington appointed the first cabinet which had four members and he appointed the first ten justices of the Supreme Court.

As the president he needed to set precedents that first made the office respected. He took others’ advice, and as a result was well liked and trusted (Doc. 1). This advice took the form of his Cabinet, a group of trusted experts who helped him make decisions.
