Gender Roles In Garp And Helen

In Garp and Helen’s relationship both of them had affairs with people. Garp with Alice and Helen with Harrison. They both were in th wrong even though they stay together because they think of it as if they stop everything about them will be perfect and they will love each other. They didn’t love each other when they got married but they have gotten to the point where they do actually love each other. Their gender roles play a part because the two families are complete opposites. Garp stays home and cooks, cleans, gets the kids ready for school while Helen goes to work and makes money for the family to live off of.
