* Refers basically to the social distinctions, differences or expectations which are socially constructed in relation to real or assumed sex characteristics between male and female or sometimes third gender.

* Third Gender means categorized that can be used as a basis for a gender identity by people who are uncomfortable with the gender that is usually associated with their sex. Gender thus, refers to the distinctions differences and expectations that sex makes in a culture, these influence how we think of ourselves, how we interact with people and how we fit into a society. Briefly, it refers to human traits linked by culture to each sex.

Sex on the other hand, refers to the biological traits categorized as male and female. It is about the division of human beings into biological categories mentioned. Thus, it is common to expect that females are socialized to be masculine. Sex basically a differentiating characteristic.


Gender refers to patterns of culturally constructed and learned behaviors. It is a study related to gender role socialization. Gender roles are expectations regarding the appropriate the behavior, attitudes and activities of male and females. Gender or Sex roles begin at birth. Blue is for male infant. Pink for all the female infant. Right, at this early stage, we noticed the differentiation. As the children grow and socialized there are social expectations. Girls are reared and naturally brave. Even in the idea of being independent, boys are more favored than girls. Sometimes gender studies is offered together with STUDY OF SEXUALITY Sexologist John Money(1955) introduced the terminological distinction between biological sex and gender as a role. Before his work, it was uncommon to use the word gender to refer to anything but grammatical categories.
