1. Introduction

Welcome to GCSE Biology. This year we will be studying OCR 21st Century science. This is a modular course of 7 units and a piece of coursework.

3. Structure of the course

There will be 7 modules. These are as follows.

B1 – You and your genes
B2 – Keeping healthy
B3 – Life on earth
B4 – The Processes of Life
B5 – Growth and development
B6 – Brain and mind
B7 – Further biology

Module B7 will expand on much of the other biology you have studied this year. These units will be assessed by 3 exams and 1 piece of coursework. These are as follows.

10. Plagiarism

Plagiarism is academic fraud, and is a serious matter in schools, colleges, universities and other academic institutions. Most of the time, this year we will actively encourage you to work together, with other people in your class. You should still produce work of your own even then and not just copy from someone who has the answers
