22 October 2013 Edmund Burke said, “ The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” This means that if others don’t step up to evil people who bully others it will go on and on until someone good stops it. For example in the article “A Bully’s Bystanders are Never Innocent” by Barbara Coloroso states that “ bullies come in all shapes and sizes and can be bullied in any form or way unless someone steps up and stops it. I agree with Edmund Burke and his quote it is the truth if someone good see’s someone getting bullied and doesn’t try to stop it the next thing that might happen is that they may also get bullied in the long run. In the poem “Yuba City School” by Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni, the author talk about a teacher bullying an immigrant boy named Jagjit and, the kids beating him up Jagjit at recess or lunch without any of the staff members even noticing. In the poem the teacher is making Jagjit sit in the back and get bullied when he should be in front cause he doesn’t understand anything. In the poem Yuba City School by Diva Karuni says that “ Jagjit came crying home from school all week the teacher has made him sit in the last row, next to the boy who drools and mumbles (Diva Karuni Stanza 1),”This shows that the teacher is also involved in bullying the kid and sets examples for the kids. They also bully him in the playground and the staff acts like they didn’t see anything happen. Also the adults at lunch act as if they don’t see the other kids bully Jagjit and beat him up. In the poem Yuba City School by Chitra Banerjee DivaKaruni she states that “In the playground, Jagjit says, invisible hands snatch at his turban, expose his uncut hair, unseen feet trip him from behind, and when he turns ghost laughter all around his bleeding knees (Diva Karuni Stanza 5).” This proves that the teachers or aids don’t even care about Jagjit getting bullied and beaten up by others. I also think

In the essay ”Bully Pulpit” Rachel Giese puts the question “Is anti-bullying hysteria harming our kids?”, and shares how the nemesis of bullying has matured over the years. She is of the opinion that the way it is being tackled exhibits generational obliviousness. Rachel starts off by sharing her personal experience over the past six months during which period her 8 year old son was reprimanded by the school authorities on many occasions for being a bully. The difference in bullying in her and her son’s generation has been that the line between the aggressor and the victim has been drawn thicker. Rachel explains that over last one year, because of bullying and extreme torment from their peers, several young people have killed themselves.…

One aspect of the human condition in the story “Sucker” by Carson McCullers shows how treating people poorly has negative effects on everyone. One major way of treating people poorly is bullying. The web page “stopbullying.gov” tells what bullying is. “Bullying is unwanted, aggressive behavior among school aged children that involves a real or perceived power imbalance. The behavior is repeated, or has the potential to be repeated, over time. Both kids `who are bullied and who bully others may have serious, lasting problems.”…

Watch your thoughts, they become words. Watch your words, they become actions. Watch your actions, they become habits. Watch your habits, they become character. A character in which you will be defined as a helping hand, a bully, or the one being bullied. America should be a country where everyone can feel safe in which ever environment from public places, to school, to work. One out of seven students from kindergarten to twelfth grade is either a bully or a victim of bullying, and it is estimated that 160,000 students miss school every day due to fear of an attack. Would you want that fear to spread to someone close to you or yourself? In American schools there are about 2.1 million bullies and 2.7 million victims, statistics are increasing every day.…

W.E Jacobs and Maureen McMahon in their article “Counterpoint: School Children Should Learn to Defend Themselves against Bullies” from the Points of Reference Center expresses why they believe that children should be able to defend themselves from bullies. Jacobs and McMahon argue that bullying is everywhere and has two aspects which is the victim that is supposed to act a certain way to the bully and the bully who shows the aggression. Most of the bullying going on now a days has to do with children, mostly in schools or on social networking. Many people do want to stop this such as teachers and parents but they are unable to because it doesn’t happen around them (Jacobs and McMahon np).…

There are way to many people getting bullied every single day, and everyday after that they become a full time bully to. I honestly think that being a bully is worse because you are doing the pain to others, and thats just not very nice. Being a bully means your sinning against god, and you are practically worshipping the devil and thats never a good thing. Also your doing bad things for society, and everybody you love and you won't have as many friends if you bully people. Most of the time bullies are people that really don't have a good life or a very rich life. If your a bully you will have a less likely chance to make to collage and get a wife, and have kids. Some bullies are jealous of other people, and want to be them, but can't…

Every day, somewhere in the world, someone is getting bullied and it’s your choice whether or not to do something about it. Most people choose to stay out of harm’s way if they’re not the one getting bullied and few people choose to stand up for themselves if they are the one bullied. I believe that helping or asking for help is the only way to solve a bullying problem. The reason why people choose not to say anything is because they’re scared of what might happen. The “consequence” of telling on someone is what most people think about first, so why put yourself in a place where you don’t need to be right? If it’s not your problem then it’s not a problem to you at all? These thoughts are the reasons why bullying is never stopped.…

“1 in 5 people are or have been a bully or bullied’ according to “Meet the New Sheriff.” That way too many. In my opinion, when there is a bully, victim, and a bystander the bully can do the worst damage! Either if it is done physically, verbally, or even exclusion it is very harmful to the victim. Bullies can hurt people very badly. The victim is like a wounded soldier in a battle field with nowhere to go!…
