Southern Fried Chicken and Apple
Tesco’s and Apple have various functional areas, below are some areas with some examples in each of the businesses.
Southern Fried Chicken:
Sales – Southern Fried Chicken has a specific functional area based on sales. The sales department of a business handles how the products will be sold and helping customers find a suitable product for their needs. They organise sales promotions such as buy two number seven deals and get the third one for free, respond to customer enquiries about their products such as responding to customers regarding pricing and keep records up to date like keeping receipts and the businesses bills. E.g. the Southern Fried Chicken members of staff price products accurately in order to help customers with budgets buy food more easily.
Marketing –Marketing is the ways a business approaches a customer in order to persuade them to buy their products. Southern Fried Chicken market in various ways. They advertise the products of their businesses by using flyers which is an effective way on how to approach customers in order to sell products to them. Southern fried chicken also complete market research such as questionnaires to ensure that they fulfil customer needs. This is effective as it keeps consumers interested in a business’s products and it asks customers on how the business how it could improve, this could make consumers happier with the store.
Finance – The financial functional area in the Southern Fried Chicken store deals with all of the money aspects of a business. This includes budgeting. The person in this store who deals with finance would want to ensure that payments are paid on time such as ‘the rent’. The finance department would also want to ensure the employees’ wages are paid on time every time. This department would also want to produce accounts so tax can be paid on time. A successful financial function in a business could save it a lot of money which as a result could boost profits. An
