The Chippewa tribe is a popular adaptation of the Ojibwa tribe. It is one of the largest Native American tribes in North of Mexico, whom range are along both shores of Lake Huron and Superior, extending from Minnesota Turtle Mountains, North Dakota. Even though strong in numbers and occupation of extensive territory, the Chippewa were never very prominent in history of Native American tribes. They owe their unpopularity from the period of colonial wars. In their tradition they are part of a larger Algonquian body, which also includes Ottawa and Potawatomi tribes, but separated into certain divisions when it reached Mackinaw.…

Hounded, the 1st of The Iron Druid Chronicles series was written by a newly found author named Kevin Hearne. All books in the series are urban fantasy. This aspect of the books makes them very intriguing because they combine a lot of fantasies and mythology (and not only vampires and werewolves) with the modern day world. The protagonist in Hounded, as well as the rest of the series, is Atticus O’Sullivan. Or at least that’s the name he’s taken on for now. You see, Atticus is a Druid, or a magical being that has the power to shape-shift into certain animals, conduct some magic, and draw power from the earth by a connection through a tattoo up his or her arm. Atticus is a special Druid because he is the last real Druid. There are many in this age that calls themselves Druids because they choose to live as they did. But Atticus also has one other special feature: he can live forever.…

Carl Jung worked with Sigmund Freud, who assumed the unconscious mind was a personal thing within an individual . But Carl Jung saw the unconscious mind as the inherited part of the human psyche that could not be developed from personal experience. The collective unconscious is expressed through archetypes, which are universal symbols and thoughts that influence the way we express our emotions and actions. It's the way we connect with each other and understand things. Archetypes are recurring plot patterns, images, descriptive detail, and characters that are expressed in stories, dreams and religions. The unconscious emotions in ourselves are evoked when we recognize these archetypes.…

I am Jane. I’m a 9th grader at North Garland, who knows that life shouldn’t be taken for granted. I know that my family will always be there for me. I know that friends come and go, and that I should enjoy the time we have until they’re gone. My mandala represents what I am at this point and time in my life. The mandala tells little aspects of my life that I think are truly important to me; family, friends, hope, faith, and love.…

Alzheimer’s is a dementing illness (causes loss of mental functions like memory or thought), and between 60 and 80% of all dementing illness is produced by Alzheimer’s, making it the most common form of dementia in older people. Alzheimer’s first appears in people after the age of 60, and in all individuals over the age of 65, an estimated 5% have the disease. Just like dementia in general, the odds of getting Alzheimer’s doubles every five years after 65 years of age. While Alzheimer’s is sporadic (not genetic) there have been reports of familial links with the disease, and an autosomal dominant disorder linked to the mutation causing Alzheimer’s is not unheard of. In addition, Alzheimer’s affects men and women equally. Diabetes mellitus, cardiovascular disease, hypertension, and head trauma are reputed to be causes of Alzheimer’s; however the majority believes that at least diabetes and hypertension play a role in the development of the disease.…

On 1 December 1941, Japan's militarist government decided to attack the United States and seize the American Philippines and resource-rich British and Dutch colonial possessions in South-East Asia. To distract the American government while it secretly positioned a powerful aircraft carrier strike force for a surprise attack on the United States Pacific Fleet at its Pearl Harbor base in Hawaii, the Japanese government had ordered its envoys in Washington to engage the Americans in intensive diplomatic negotiations.…

American art in the late twentieth century expanded the realm art in addition to bringing the idea of art to where it is today. Andy Warhol was the most notable artist from this time period. His addition of popular culture into art really pushed where art was at the time as well as brought art to where it stands today. I think that the main difference between a good film or song and a bad one is the ability for the audience to relate to the content. When the audience can relate to a piece of art from personal experience is when the piece of art can truly be called “artistic”. People don’t want to just listen to a song or see a movie and think that it was cool and fun to watch, but to take something from the art’s material and be able to comprehend the message that is being presented. I think that art is best when it fulfills both categories. I like films and songs that have a good message, applicable to my life, and are also entertaining. I have been watching the show “Breaking Bad” since the first season came out and I have learned a lot more about life in general than I knew before. You watch the protagonist, Walter White, go from an innocent chemistry teacher to a homicidal methamphetamine cook. The show presents many life lessons in very unique ways. I truly love this show because by watching it, I learn a little bit more about myself and different ways to see the world. It is shows like this that can actually be defined as “artistic”; they present a good entertaining story but also incorporate personal experiences that can apply to a broad audience. I have watched movies before that I’ve enjoyed due to the entertainment it presented rather than what I got out of it. Shows like this are not “artistic”, but entertaining. There is a big difference between a film being fun to watch and a film that presents useful material to apply to the outside world.…
