Fun Run 2 Analysis

The game I have chosen to critique is Fun Run 2, a real-time multiplayer game with over 5 million downloads making it one of the most popular free to play multiplayer game. It is developed by DirtyBit with Corona SDK and is a cross-platform game for IOS and android phones/tablets available on Apple App Store and Google Play store. Fun Run 2 is a game where you can race against 3 other people who can be your friends, strangers or bots in multiple maps collecting different power-ups to boost yourself, cause other players to slow down or to protect yourself from other’s attacks. The objective is simple, to cross the finish line first. The touch gesture is very simple, it only involves tapping on the 2 on-screen buttons.

Other games have this concept where paid items have better stats than regular items but for Fun Run 2, those in game purchases are solely for cosmetics and doesn’t affect gameplay. With the fact that it is a free game, it is very surprising to see that there are no ads at all, or at least, none that I know of. However, overtime the bots starts to become too easy for your professional Fun Running skills and things tend to become boring when you keep on winning with no effort.
