My shyness all went away at this time, I no longer had a reason to be held back. The more organizations I joined, the more I grew as a person. In the beginning of my junior year i was inducted to National Honor Society, became colorguard captain and historian officer for band. Becoming colorguard captain meant more than being a simple member. The day i learned about myself having an interdependence nature was during the day of our first band competition of the year. Having to wake up early and do an SAT exam was simple. The fact that i had to do the SAT then drive an hour after the exam was different. I could've chosen to not go. Everyone already knew their performance.Yet i needed to take my responsibility as a leader and be physically there for my part. Servant leadership is a component of being part of a true community. This includes everyone being part of a family. I didn't realize how limited my definition of “family” was. My definition is now more than flesh and bone; it is my very own…

This is one of my favorite activities, and the opportunity was brought to me by my chapter. Additionally, I can be found practicing leadership through my position as the Merchandise Chairmen. I have worked so hard to do all my tasks in a timely manner. I know this position has helped me become recognized throughout my chapter as a confident and hard-working leader. I love to exercise loyalty by proudly wearing my letters and tabling during involvement fairs on campus. Telling the students at my University how much I love Alpha Phi and all it has done for me is so refreshing. Equally, I can bring this love to my hometown where I tell my family, friends, and coworkers all things my chapter works towards and all the fun we have! Finally, I exemplify character development in my chapter by networking with my sisters for resume-building opportunities. I received my internship, running social media for a local restaurant, through one of my sisters. This internship has strengthened my self-management and communication skills. The bond we have with our sisters helps us play to each others strengths and helps us teach each other to live a healthier lifestyle full of…
