Boobie Miles in the book Friday Night Lights had minor differences from Boobie Miles in the movie. In the book they touched on boobie’s background and how he got to live with his uncle L.V. the movie didn’t touch on that. In the book Boobie had more pressure on him to do well in football than in the movie. The Odessa townspeople felt like he was only good for football and after his injury he was a nobody. In the movie people were less hateful towards him even though he suffered the serious injury.
The differences have a minor impact on my interpretation of Boobie, in the book Boobie went through a hard childhood. His mother had a serious drug problem and his father use to abuse him until his uncle L.V. took him in. Boobie had everything taken from him and went through so much pain and football made him proud. Boobie was more stubborn in the book when he found out he was a backup to Chris Comer so, he gave up on football. But, Boobie should’ve had a backup plan if football didn’t work out he should’ve taken football more seriously.
Boobie in the Friday Night Lights Movie and book are essentially identical, they both are very cocky self centered individuals. Both Boobie’s had a numerous college offers to play football for each school. They both were the star players of the team in the book and the team use to revolve around them. When it came to school both Boobies didn't make school a priority and they had to take remidial classes to get back on track. The Similarities are key points on Boobie’s personality and his life on the field and off the field. But in the movie Boobie seem more respectful to his uncle L.V.; he listened to his uncle in the movie and didn’t get into any fights with him. In the book it seems to be the opposite Boobie didn’t get along with his uncles when he left the football team and he left his uncles house to live with his aunt for a long period
