Friar Lawrence is to Blame for Romeo & Juliets Death
(Hook) Romeo was to blame for the death of him and his star crossed lover for three reasons. The first reason being he was over dramatic and aggressive with many things. The second being he would constantly act out to quickly without thinking of the consequences his actions would bring. The third reason being he fell ‘in love’ with Juliet and made her fall ‘in love’ with him too. For these three reasons I believe Romeo was to blame for him and Juliet’s tragic deaths. Romeo was the type of person who was overdramatic and aggressive with how he thought and acted. Romeo was convinced he found his one true love, Rosaline but when he couldn’t get what he wanted from her he was ‘heartbroken’ believing he could never love again. He made a huge deal to Benvolio and Mercutio of how Rosaline was the one and no one could ever compare. (I.III.93-98)Not only did he sulk around all day because of the heartbreak from Rosaline but he threatened to kill himself because of her not loving him. (I.IV.19-22)He then follows Rosaline to a masked ball but when there he spots a beautiful girl across the room, Juliet Capulet. The daughter of his family’s sworn enemy, even though he was just crying over Rosaline just seconds before he seemed to find ‘love’ again. Romeo falls in love with Juliet at first sight he goes over and talks to her not even knowing who she is, he then kisses her and is determined to see her again. (I.V.125-128) Not only did Romeo fall in love several times with two different girls he acted to quickly with everything. Romeo was very impulsive and did things quickly without thinking of the consequences that would occur. He was way too quick to fall ‘in love’ with Juliet after just meeting her minutes before.
