“These violent delights have violent ends,/ And their triumph die, like fire and powder./ Which as they kiss consume”(II, ⅵ, 9-11). “Romeo and Juliet” by William Shakespeare is a romantic love story about two people from families that have a long time hatred for eachother. The main Characters are Romeo from the Montague family and Juliet from the Capulet family. Their first encounter was at a masquerade ball and they instantly fell in love at first sight. They quickly got married, then soon after, their relationship started to go downhill after some unfortunate events, which ultimately led to the death of both Romeo and Juliet. This was when Romeo asks Friar Lawrence to marry him and Juliet. Friar Lawrence was a little shocked that Romeo quickly got over Rosaline and immediately fell in love with his enemy, but he agrees to Romeo’s request anyway because he believes it will turn the hatred of their families into love. Friar Lawrence should have rejected Romeo and told their parents or someone about their relationship. Romeo, still a teenager at 17 years old, didn’t stop to think about his decisions and how it would affect himself and others. “Did my heart love till now? Forswear it, sight!/ For I ne’er saw true beauty till this night”(I, V, 52-53). Romeo went to the Capulet’s masquerade ball and saw Juliet. He instantly fell in love with her and forgot about his past love, Rosaline, whom he said he could not live without just recently. Rosaline was the main reason Romeo went to the masquerade ball. If he got over her or she didn’t come, then Romeo and Juliet wouldn’t have met Juliet. Romeo fell in love too quickly with Juliet’s beauty, when he should’ve taken it slow and got married at least a year into their relationship and not a day after they
