As mentioned earlier in Part I of this proposal, Smith Consulting has been contracted by Kudler Fine Foods to develop and implement a Frequent Shopper Program. The ultimate goal of this program is to keep current customers loyal and to illustrate to new customers ingenious ways in which Kudler intends to keep a good client-customer relationship. As a secondary measure, the Frequent Shopper Program is intended to track customer behavior and habits. The server will be upgraded to blade servers for faster more proficient transactions. The 56K modem will also be upgraded to Broadband, preferably a T1 line or fiber with network speeds that can reach ITB/sec download speed. Additionally the current Point Of Sale System can be easily upgraded to accommodate the tracking and favorites of individual consumers with the use of an upgraded barcode system which will be implemented at the first sprint of the project. Smith will make a prototype of this at the first Sprint to present to shareholders and the board before final approval. Network Connections: Kudler Fine Foods main network is a Virtual Private Network which is up to standard for present ay business transactions. This VPN would allow for very secure communications between headquarters, other sites and site to site, all of which will be using the Frequent Shopper Program. Smith consulting will be responsible for the revision and alteration of all tables and queries. Smith consulting will incorporate a program to send the bar code information when a product is scanned by a Frequent Shopper, to the appropriate table. The database will be expanded also to include all online transactions. Additionally if Kudler decides to expand, a plan will be written in the background t o go to SQL server as a more expansive and quicker way of storing and managing the database. User Interface The GUI being designed by Smith Consulting user friendly controls and a color scheme that will be appeasing to the eye. A GUI that is pleasing to the eye and easy to use will go a long way in attracting new customers and encouraging current customers to learn more about the new program. Customers will be able to enter their name and contact information in order to receive a Frequent Shopper Card conveniently through the mail or to be printed out immediately in the comfort of their own home.
