Franz Verdinand's Diary: Sarajevo, Bosnia And Herzegovina
June 28, 1914: Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina I screamed in agony, all eyes now turned to me as I stood over the lifeless body of Franz Ferdinand on the street of Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. I got up and ran. I had just witnessed my father die and all of his blood was on me. I couldn’t get the image of his lifeless eyes out of my head. As I ran, I saw a man. A man who looked familiar, as I approached him, he ran. He was the man that shot my father. I sprinted towards him tackling him. There I stood, with my father’s killer right in my hands. I looked into his eyes and saw fear. The air turned black all around me. As I held his head in my hands, I took out a knife and stabbed him. He screamed, but I didn’t care. I got up and left his …show more content…
Since you're your father’s heir to the throne, you will be given your father’s place at the Congress of Vienna. At 8:00 tonight, someone will come and take you to Vienna, where you will take his place.” It was only 7:50, and no one has come yet. Maybe it was just a prank, but for some reason I could not erase the feeling that something would happen in the next 10 minutes. All of a sudden, something kicked the door down. I ran to get the nearest knife and hid in the closet. I heard the man walking but stopped as he reached the closet. I heard the door slowly and I jabbed the knife stabbing it into his stomach. He groaned, but managed to take the knife out and threw it on the floor. He forced an odd looking pill into my mouth, which slowly made me drowsy. I then heard him say that the deal was complete as he picked me up, took me out of the hotel, and shoved me in his …show more content…
I screamed, but all that I heard was my echo. After 5 minutes of me screaming, a man came into the room and turned the light on. He was wearing a black tuxedo, with a black mask covering his eyes. He held a platter with two masks in the platter that was identical to his but the colors of the mask were different. One of the masks was blue and red with white diamonds and the other mask was green and red with black diamonds. He told me the mask I would choose would determine my future. Without any thought, I chose the green and red mask. The man untied me from my chair and led me away from the room where I was being held. He told me before opening another door to put on my mask which I did. The door then opened revealing a beautiful ballroom with more people in masks similar to mines. The room was 2 stories with two men sitting on top of the 2nd floor and other men and women wearing luxurious ball gowns all dancing in unison. Amazed, I entered the ballroom and the two men sitting on the 2nd floor signaled me to join them. I walked up the spiral staircase and sat down in a seat in the middle of the two

By the time I was eight I knew the whole story, from my grandmother who sat around sewing and making peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for my lunch before I went to daycare. She had told me how the killer was never known, seen, or heard, but that his presence will live in infamy, no matter how hard we tried to forget the past. The past consisted of commotion, forcing the paramedics to move like flames across a burning sheet, discombobulation as they reached her corpse. She had gone cold because phantoms couldn’t resist playing tricks with someone’s life in the balance. She was…

I got dressed and went downstairs to join the others and asked what was going on. They told me how they were chopping down trees for firewood and my victim had hit his head and impaled himself on his hatchet when he went to the restroom. I began to think about why I murdered him. He had gotten too close to finding out that I was the killer. He knew how to analyze fingerprints and perform tests on the pieces of evidence. I had started being even more skillful at hiding evidence since he revealed this skill, perhaps I should have thanked him. Oh well, too…
