Foundational To The Christian Faith Is The Belief That Mankind Is Created In The Image Of God
Foundational to the Christian faith is the belief that mankind is created in the image of God. Explain how this belief affects the way you interact with people within your chosen vocation

Introduction: Upon graduating from Liberty, I plan to pursue a career as a case manager for adults and/or children with disabilities. I feel that God has given me a heart to serve those that are often overlooked and need help the most just as Jesus did.

Example 1: Since mankind is created in God’s image as a case worker I will have compassion for my clients. People with disabilities are often ignored and underserved because of their infirmities. God calls us to serve others and have compassion for those who are unable to help themselves. We should do this not only because its what we are called to do as Christians but also because it brings glory to God. Author Elmer Towns made mention of this in his book with the statement “While Christians believe humanitarian efforts are good, even essential, there must be a higher reason for helping others. Christians believe they exist to glorify God and serve God. One way of serving God is helping others.” (Towns, 91) The idea of being compassionate is mentioned in the bible many times. In fact in Colossians 3:12, “Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.” (Bible, NIV) I am expected to show kindness compassion, and patience at all times and to all people, especially to the clients/individuals that I plan to work for.
Example 2: Since mankind is created in God’s image as a case worker

A jubilant hello from Alabama! I am Valerie and my most rewarding accomplishment stands about 5 foot in height, and she is 10-years of age. My greatest blessing, joyfully filled my heart at the age of nine when Jesus Christ became my Savior. When my daughter was of the age of two, I received a Bachelor degree in Elementary Education. Because God’s hand has directed me to travel a new path, I am pursuing an M.B.A. in Leadership. Frankly, I lack experience in international business, with this marking my second semester in the business program. With careful consideration, I chose Liberty University based on the university commitment to educating accompanied with a biblical perspective. However, religious believers themselves shouldn’t just be the only ones who should show more compassion. In order to help the poor, everyone in the world should help in different ways (e.g. donating to charity). God has given us free will, so it’s the religious believers’ choice if he or she wants to show more compassion to the poor or not. The religious believer may also be in a difficult position themselves where they are unable to contribute to helping the poor.…

A strong sense determination has always been a key part of who I am. I've always felt that, like driving a car, unless you take control of your life and grab the steering wheel, you won't get very far, or go in the right direction. In a world full of indecision, seldom do you find someone who knows exactly who or what they want to be in life; someone who bears determination, dedication, and motivation towards their goal. Happiness is knowing one’s potential and acting on it. My ambition in life is to help others reach their goals. This is what drives me. I want to be a social worker for the disabled and rehabilitation. Getting out of bed in the morning for an average person doesn’t require too much effort, but somewhere in the world a 10 year old little girl is missing both of her legs. No one cares, no one took the time out of there busy schedule to believe in her. Somewhere in the world, a mother is telling her little boy why daddy can’t play catch anymore. The neighbors stare in disgust; they don’t know he had his arm blown off by a landmine in Vietnam while defending his country. Someday I will be the one to teach the little boy with a lung disease how to sing, and the kid with the prosthetic foot how to walk. I get my inspiration from my father. My father was born with a mild form of cerebral palsy; a condition due to a lack of sufficient oxygen at birth causing a disability in his legs. This was no one’s fault, his parents and family loved him very much, yet he has had a struggle all his life. He spent much of his childhood in surgery and recovery, including near 2 years in a swimming pool learning how to walk. While other children were learning to run, he was learning to crawl. While other children were learning mathematics, he was in a hospital room. Throughout his life he suffered the inhumanity and absence of compassion that was to be expected from his attending school. Friends weren’t friends; people have a tendency to treat those with…

This paper will discuss three places of work and look a little into myself and the direction hoped to be taken. My three places of employment would be Child Protective Services, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, and my local county center to help others. My goal is to help children, families, vets, and homeless get on their feet and be productive. I have been the last few years volunteering with my children’s school coordinating family events for learning and understanding so they can grow in school. I have also volunteered in Relay for life and Habitat for Humanity. These were fulfilling and fun ways to help get others on their feet the school had low learners and parents in some cases they either did not understand or know English this helped in their family growth. Raising money for a great cause and being a small part of what was going on was amazing. Building a home for someone in need of a roof over their families head is fulfilling helping that family get on their own feet. I am going to school for my Bachelors in Human Services.…
