Footnote to Youth
"The Man Who Can't Be Moved"

Going back to the corner where I first saw you
Gonna camp in my sleeping bag I'm not gonna move
Got some words on cardboard, got your picture in my hand
Saying, "If you see this girl can you tell her where I am?"

Some try to hand me money, they don't understand
I'm not broke – I'm just a broken-hearted man
I know it makes no sense but what else can I do?
How can I move on when I'm still in love with you?

[Chorus:]
'Cause if one day you wake up and find that you're missing me
And your heart starts to wonder where on this earth I could be
Thinking maybe you'll come back here to the place that we'd meet
And you'll see me waiting for you on the corner of the street

So I'm not moving, I'm not moving

Policeman says, "Son, you can't stay here."
I said, "There's someone I'm waiting for if it's a day, a month, a year.
Gotta stand my ground even if it rains or snows.
If she changes her mind this is the first place she will go."

[Chorus]

So I'm not moving, I'm not moving,
I'm not moving, I'm not moving

People talk about the guy that's waiting on a girl
There are no holes in his shoes but a big hole in his world

And maybe I'll get famous as the man who can't be moved
Maybe you won't mean to but you'll see me on the news
And you'll come running to the corner
'Cause you'll know it's just for you
I'm the man who can't be moved
I'm the man who can't be moved

[Chorus 2x]

Going back to the corner where I first saw you
Gonna camp in my sleeping bag, I'm not gonna move

A Thousand Years C Heart beats fast G Colors and promises Em How to be brave D C How can I love when I'm afraid To fall G But

In the 16th century, Spanish explorer Juan Ponce de León journeyed to present day Florida in search of gold. During his many explorations, Ponce de León heard tales of a Caribbean island thought to hold the secret of everlasting life—and so the fabled fountain of youth was born. The “quest” for the fountain of youth was thought to be Ponce de León’s motivation for the remainder of his Caribbean exploration. However, this association is now widely discredited as a mere myth. Even so, the tales of a “rejuvenating fountain,” a “stream of invigoration,” any, so called, “restorative body of water,” have persisted throughout history. While an enchanted cure-all for aging may be just out of reach, perhaps the key to longevity has been hiding under…

Determining whether a juvenile is identified as a child or an adult is quite simple. If a juvenile is under the age of 18 then he or she is not an adult and if a juvenile has graduated from high school then he or she is identified as an adult. I believe that if a juvenile has not developed a certain level of intelligence or has not emotionally developed then they can’t be identified as an adult. In addition to that, although juveniles may have developed the sense of knowing right from wrong they may not know what’s right from wrong in the “adult world.” There have been laws passed to permitting juveniles to be transferred to adult court. The process with transferring juveniles to adult courts starts with the seriousness of the offense committed by the juvenile. If a juvenile has committed an offense such as armed robbery or murder then without a doubt there aren’t any excuses for…

The fountain of youth was believed to be a myth to modern society, but some explorers had actually ventured out to find it. Explorers such as Juan Ponce de Leon had explored Florida, but other leaders claimed that they had fountain. According to different religions, the fountain of youth has had many different forms of blessing people with youthfulness. But, in popular culture, this myth can be found in various mediums illustrating its version of what can be restored when using this fountain, compared to how different religious cultures share their folktales. In the medical society, this myth could’ve been one of the further causes for the beginning…

Poetry by definition is the art of writing that shows more imagination and deep feeling that ordinary speech. Poetry is a set of sensual words with deep meaning, but for some reason young people do not appreciate it. Hugh Maclennan states, "For without poetry these youths were poor.” He was referring to a group of teenagers he encountered, but this statement can be directed to the majority of youths today. Poetry is dead in our lives, and without knowing what it is, we will not realize how important it is. Educational institutions have introduced and taught us poetry, but still we do not grasp the quality and meaning of having poetry in our lives. With poetry comes imagination, but today’s literature does not promote of the exercising of our imagination.…
