Food Intake 3-Days

During my three day food intake I discovered that I only consumed 88 grams of protein. In these three meals I spent almost 40 dollars and I was short almost 100 grams of protein required for my weight. Four slices of pizza, and two double cheeseburgers produced the most protein. Oatmeal, beer, and coffee only counted for less than 10 grams. All six items consumed over the 3 day stretch accounted for carbohydrates. The items ranged from 10g to 100g of carbs. The only item with enough lipids was the McDonald’s oatmeal. The rest of the meals were relatively low. I need to make better planning to include more lipids into my health plan.
According to the recommendation of the DRI and compared to my intake of protein, carbs, and lipid I failed to meet 100% percent of the minimum standards. I was less than 50% DRI for most of the nutrients. In fact only one out of the 35 nutrients only surpassed or reached 50%. I personally think that I need to consume more meals with adequate healthy nutrients. I would need to add more vegetables, fruits, and oils to my diet so I can achieve my goals. My calorie DRI was almost 4,000 and I just consumed 18% or almost 700 calories. I almost did good with carbohydrates meeting my DRI, but with protein I was at 17%, and with fat total I was at 33%. I was surprised that the numbers were not even close to my expectations. I understand that during these three days I didn’t meet my required DRI because I changed my diet for this assignment. I tried to limit my food intake and changed from healthy food to fast food, but nonetheless during some days this is what I have consumed during some occasions. It demonstrated that I was not anywhere near be healthy. I will need to increase my protein intake achieve my gym goals. If I was to eat little protein the muscle mass would turn to stored fat and have low energy. If I was to lose weight and I would stop exercising my fat would come back

The results for my new diet when compared to the recommendations from the SuperTracker are very bad indeed. I am not eating enough grains, vegetables, fruits, dairy or protein foods. An average for the amount of grains I consumed was 6 and a half ounces which is 2 servings each of these days. I consumed one and a half cup of fruits and vegetables which is about 2 servings on Saturday. I did not eat any other fruit during this three day period. I also consumed a quarter cup of dairy. From the proteins foods group, I consumed 2 and a half ounces and from the oils groups which is not a serving at all, but when this measured is about 2 teaspoons.…

My average total calories eaten was below my goal, but not too far under. I averaged 2027 calories and my target was 2100. I ate on average 86 grams of protein per day and my target was 56 grams. The target percentage of protein from total calories consumed ranged from 10-35% and I averaged 17%. I had thought my diet consisted of a higher percentage of protein, but this 3-day nutrition report proved me wrong. I knew I consumed plenty of carbohydrates and this reports confirmed that. The target was 130 grams per day and I had averaged 278 grams. The percentage of my carbohydrate caloric intake from my total caloric intake fell right in the center of the target. My 3-day average was 55% and the target range was 45-65%. My fat intake is also OK according to this report. I am on the higher side of total fat % of my calories compared to the target number. The target range is from 20-35% and I was at 32%. I feel comfortable with this number knowing that my saturated fat was only 4% of my calories with the target goal being less than 10%. I also am getting a good amount of omega 3- fatty acids per day at 3mg for DHA and 2mg for EPA. Overall I feel that this report is showing that I am getting a good amount of macronutrients in my diet, especially for the amount of physical activity that I…

Good nutrition is important for everyone. Healthful diets enable people of all ages to work productively and feel their best. A food journal of consumed food will allow an individual to understand which food groups provide a healthy fat content as well as vitamins and minerals. The following is an analysis of my food intake for September 14, 2008 using the Nutrition Policy and Promotion (CNPP) Website. The Center is a wonderful way to obtain a portion of the vitamins needed every day. When reviewing my recorded intake and analyzing the results, I realized that changes still needed to be made. While vitamins and minerals such as Thiamin, Riboflavin, and Niacin, Vitamin B6, Vitamin B12 and Zinc were met, other daily vitamin and nutrient recommendations were not met. Paying attention to food labels and making daily adjustments to my food intake will ensure that the appropriate amount of calories, proteins, carbohydrates, vitamins and minerals are consumed. In conclusion, one way to understand which food groups provide a healthy fat content as well as vitamins and minerals on a daily basis is to keep a Food Journal Analysis.…

The first nutritional intake I looked at was what kind of protein I ate, and if I went over the amount required. The bulk of my protein for the three days came from chicken, hamburger, and pork. Accept for the first day which was 80% of protein required, I went over the daily intake requirement. Nelson (2013), "In fact, medical research shows that consuming too much protein -- more than 30% of your total daily caloric intake -- could actually harm your body, says protein expert Gail Butterfield, PhD, RD, director of Nutrition Studies at the Palo Alto Veterans' Administration Medical Center and nutrition lecturer at Stanford University.” (para. 2). As I was over the standard amount of protein on two of the three days, some things I can cut to get within range would be to eat only one…

    C. My percentages of calories from protein, and fat were not found to fall under the Dietary Guidelines presented in my report. It stated that I should be consuming about 46. g of protein, though I was shown to consume about 28 g; in terms of fat, the suggestion was 42-73 g, though my actual intake was around 11 g. However, my carbohydrate intake was within range; the suggested intake was 213-308 g, and my actual intake was 232 g. In addition, my intake of saturated fat was 8%, falling under the recommended rage of 10% or under. In order to consume a more appropriate amount of fat and protein, I could try and substitute one or two snacks consisting of fruit with trail mix, or I could add some peanut butter to them. It would also help to incorporate some fish to either my lunch or dinner. This would be…
