During the gradual release, I would ask students to come back to the carpet if they are not ready to be on their own yet. With this small group we would work through a few more problems together, again having a student coming up for each step. This will allow them extra support and guidance needed to comprehend the learning goal. …show more content…

For collecting and recording data in regards to the focus learner, I plan on implementing a daily assessment record as well as a progress monitoring sheet that will enable me to measure the progress made by the focus learner on her learning goal. The data that I chose to include on my daily assessment record was: type of math problem, strategy used to solve the word problem, did the focus learner use the appropriate operation to solve the word problem, was the focus learner correct in computation of the word problem, and did the focus learner solve the word problem individually or with prompts. Freshman Focus was definitely something that I did not get to experience during my high school career, and it has shaped me to become a more knowledgeable person, in a sense. I got the opportunity to really learn about a particular subject and craft an oral argument for individuals from the educated community. It seems to me that many of my peers who partook in doing these presentations really felt anxious about it, especially the night before. However, with that being said, many of these individuals really enjoyed the presentation after giving the presentation. I went in really expecting a strict and hostile environment. I don’t know why I felt this way, but I did. Luckily, my professor really prepared us for this presentation, and this allowed…

A thorough analysis of my experience in Writing 101 taught me many things. A major takeaway from this class is never to overestimate my abilities. While taking this course, I was also trying to handle two other classes, a full-time job, and a hormonal teenager. I feel I personally overestimated my abilities. Prior to taking this course I did not have a strong background in writing or English for that matter. I honestly feel writing is my weakest subject. I know I will have to retake this course. When I do retake the class, I will undoubtedly ensure I do not have any other distractions. I must take this course as a stand-alone class. I also will make certain this be a face to face course. I feel the lessons in this course are exquisite. However, I should have asked for help sooner. I now…

Going on the first day I didn’t know what to expect or how the meeting would play out however, I think the meeting went well. Being able to share my case with my peers gave me new insights on a few different methods that can be used to support a student with a learning and behavior disability. Through this meeting I was able to come up with new strategies that can be implemented by myself, the student, and the parents in order to better assist the student’s learning needs. Being the homeroom teacher I felt very supported and I felt I had to be confident in the information that was being delivered to the parent. In the meeting I found we were efficient in producing a plan for Rose and made good use of the time that was provided.…
