Five Towns College Essay Sample
Inspiration can come from anything. For me, one of the major inspirations in my life is audio or audio engineering. It has opened up many opportunities for work and has opened my eyes and mind to a new type of education, one that I will enjoy learning at your school, Five Towns College. As it is one of my biggest passions, I know I will enjoy doing this for the rest of my life as my career and as a hobby.
My original interest for audio peaked when I became more involved with music. I learned how to play drums as well as bass guitar and ukulele. I performed in a band for a few years and often played shows and competitions. This helped furthered my knowledge in music and started to make me wonder how it was made and recorded. This curiosity was a major step for me into the world of audio production and a major step in considering it as my career choice. The knowledge of music I learned and the different styles of music I have come to understand and play have influenced the way I record and mix music today.

I first heard of your school from my through my BOCES teacher, Mr. Matt Cooper. He was a student enrolled at Five Towns College. He offered great information about the teachers at Five Towns College and he piqued my interest to look deeper into the programs offered. Some of the best features of attending Five Towns College is that it seems that I would have an extensive education in my desired career field and I would have multiple internships that can introduce me to my future career. It would give me a head start in achieving my goals of working in a recording studio and one day owning my

The main mission of Berkeley City College is “to promote student success, to provide their diverse community with educational opportunities and to transform lives” – this is what exactly required Edmundson during the process of teaching his students (Edmundson, 1997). As he puts it in his work that he did not wanted to hear that student enjoyed his class and discipline, but he needed to know that his classes challenged the students and changed their lives. He also points out that students needed some jokes or interesting facts at the beginning of the lecture or an interesting question in order to provide investigation but he wanted that students rather make a difficult way through studying and required his students pay a lot of attention and…

In the short story, Our Town, by Thornton Wilder narrates the lives of the townspeople of Grover’s Corner, specifically two little children. The story begins with the introduction of the lives of two children with very similar families. Later, the two children discover their love towards each other, but only after death do they realize the true importance of life. Throughout this novel there are a lot of characters worthy of comparing and contrasting, however I've decided to analyze Matsu, and Stephen relationship. The base of Matsu and Stephen relationship sort of reminds me of a George and Lennie relationship from the “Of Mice and Men Tale”, in which George carries around Lennie like a helpless pet by caring for him, guiding him through life, and bailing him out of the sticky situations he gets himself in.…

Music has played a significant role throughout my whole life. All throughout middle school and high school I have been a performer, participating in many different musical organizations including orchestra and choir. These personal experiences have broadened my interests in music. In middle school I was in choice voices, which was a special singing group for people who excelled in singing. When I went to high school I stayed in the same program and even became senior section leader of my choir, conducting different songs at our concert and being in charge of different performances. During my childhood I was part of the choir at my church, and performed during the different holiday masses.…

“Taryn, go put rocks in your dad’s shoes.” I recall only briefly the words of one of my dad’s coworkers encouraging me to play a joke on my dad. Being that I was only a little girl at the time I only remember this vaguely. Looking back, I loved rocks, bugs, leaves, mud, dirt, worms, anything and everything Mother Nature had to offer. I had a connection with the outdoors and I still do today. Nature is my happy place.…

My music performance career made a debut when I was very young. The church was my first audience when I began to fall in love with the stage. I always took pride in singing in Christmas and Easter programs, and I eventually went on to sing solos. Until middle school, church was my sole outlet for music performance. However, in middle school, I decided to join choir and band. My life suddenly became filled with concerts, honor bands, and other performances. I consider these the moments that I really began to learn what performance was all about. Music has helped me learn many important life lessons that make me the person I am today. Music performance has been one of the most impactful parts of my life because it has taught me confidence, artistry, and dedication.…

It was not until my freshman year in high school that I knew I wanted to be a teacher; better yet, a Band Director. I had always had a passion for music but never actually thought about pursuing it as a career. It was not until my mom and I sat down and talked about my college career path. I was having a hard time deciding what I wanted to do when I “grew up”. It was then that my mom suggested that I be a High School Band Director because of my passion for not only music but also marching band. I then gave it some thought and knew for sure that that was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.…
