The purpose of the Financial Literacy Promotion Project is to provide an opportunity for the chapter members to demonstrate the knowledge and skills needed in planning, organizing, implementing and evaluating a campaign to educate chapter members and the general public or an organized group about the importance of financial literacy. To be financially literate, one must be able to confidently read, analyze, and manage their personal finances to lead more secure and satisfying lives. The most basic areas include banking (managing checking and savings accounts), budgeting, and setting and implementing financial goals (short term to retirement). To set and obtain financial goals, one must have a working knowledge of investment instruments, borrowing, and insurance. Further, financial literacy includes an understanding of employment benefits, taxes, and other payroll deduction options. Maintaining good credit can save an individual a significant sum of money in interest savings, insurance premiums, and may even affect one’s ability to secure employment. The Financial Literacy Promotion Project is a chapter project that develops the economic and marketing knowledge and skills necessary to be successful in a global economy. After learning the economic principles associated with financial literacy, chapter members will utilize their marketing knowledge and skills to communicate the benefits of financial literacy to others. The project may begin at any time after the close of the previous chartered association conference and run to the beginning of the next chartered association conference. The Financial Literacy Promotion Project provides an opportunity for chapter members to • demonstrate their knowledge and understanding of financial literacy • engage in activity(ies) that clarify and enhance understanding of financial literacy • plan and implement a presentation or activity(ies) to educate and promote…

Richard Penn is the president of an architectural firm. He lives in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and has become known throughout to community for excellent work and honesty in his business dealings. Richard believes his reputation is a fundamental part of the success of the firm. Oil was found recently in the area around Harrisburg and some geologists believed the reserves were large. A few well-respected businesspeople organized Oil Company to develop a few wells. Although some oil was being extracted, the oil corporation lacked capital to develop the oil fields to their expected potential. Richard read the geologists report and felt that it would be a good investment so he acquired 25% of the company. A short period afterwards, the price of the oil decreased sharply and the drop in foreign oil prices caused the Oil Company to be unprofitable due to its high production costs and eventually they filed bankruptcy. Due to the bankruptcy, the architectural firm noticeably decreased, and Richard felt as if that was why. Richard convinced his partner to use the accumulated earnings of the firm to repay all the creditors of Oil Company. The question to be determined is whether payments by a taxpayers firm, are deductible from repaying Oil Company’s creditors. So in determining this issue I will be looking into Sec 162, the case of Thomas H. Welch v. Helvering and William A. Thompson.…

Based on the report the management can take a decision on the best possible approach for reducing the waiting time at our X ray center. This project is based on careful assimilation of process simulation towards improving the service level for the clients and management of County Hospital’s X-ray department. The management is concerned about proper utilization of available human and material resources, but also taking into consideration, the demands of its clients about reducing the waiting time required for getting X-ray process done. For getting an X-ray processed, clients have to wait at different work stations and lobbies for quite some time. The resources are also limited in terms of personnel who handle the FRONTDESK, XRAY LABS, DARK ROOMS and INSPECTION. Hence, to overcome this primary issue, our project first analyses the present scenario of X-ray process through flow charts and running single and multiple simulations, then proceeds towards designing a new process and its application into the system so as to achieve our goal.…

“Financial literacy is one of the most important investor basics, especially if you want to be a safe investor, an inside investor, and a rich investor. Anyone who is not financially literate cannot see into an investment. Just as a doctor uses X-rays to look at your skeletal system, a financial statement allows you to look into an investment and see the truth, the facts, the fiction, the opportunities, and the risk. Reading a financial statement of a business or individual is like reading a biography or an autobiography.”…

I admire each one of their struggles because it could be me, I’m just starting off in college and I know any one of those things could happen to me .Discipline is a key factor you have to be able to distinguish your needs as opposed to your wants. Books are way more important than clothes .Managing your money is also very important you should always have some amount of money put away for a rainy day. Playing the “Me Save” game has helped me understand a lot about saving I spend way too much money on food and way to much getting my nails done every week .Putting money aside instead of spending it on food and my nails will help me in the long run .The game is very useful in helping people distinguish what you don’t need to spend money on .I will begin to save 25 dollars that I use for my nails every week .I will also stop buying fast food Instead I will cook ,that will be more beneficial because it’s cheaper and healthier .…
