Financial Literacy /Silver Saving assignment
“Beyond Classroom walls” was a very sad but true documentary it showed the lives of a few families that have attended CCBC. The families in the documentary were all going through similar situations .There names were Angel, Jack, Lisa and Caurdray .Angels segment in the documentary touched me because she was only 27 with 4 children and lived a very rough life ,Going days without light and still finding time to study has to be one of the hardest things to encounter. I admire each one of their struggles because it could be me, I’m just starting off in college and I know any one of those things could happen to me .Discipline is a key factor you have to be able to distinguish your needs as opposed to your wants. Books are way more important than clothes .Managing your money is also very important you should always have some amount of money put away for a rainy day. Playing the “Me Save” game has helped me understand a lot about saving I spend way too much money on food and way to much getting my nails done every week .Putting money aside instead of spending it on food and my nails will help me in the long run .The game is very useful in helping people distinguish what you don’t need to spend money on .I will begin to save 25 dollars that I use for my nails every week .I will also stop buying fast food Instead I will cook ,that will be more beneficial because it’s cheaper and healthier .
