My interviewee started her career path with an Associate’s degree in Nursing. As a new graduate in nursing, her first job in nursing was in an acute care setting on a telemetry unit. After two years as a staff nurse in telemetry she was promoted to charge nurse and remained in this position for three years. She then decided to further her education in nursing but still needed to work full time. To her gain, her employer had recently partnered up with a university offering online and traditional courses. Eventually, the online fast track RN-BSN was her option of choice. It took her 18 months to obtain her BSN from the University of Phoenix. After completing her BSN, awaiting her was a promotion for a supervisor position on the telemetry unit. She accepted the position and remained in this positon for seven years. During that time, she also served in the role of interim manager and was instrumental in planning and implementing the electronic health record. The electronic health record became her passion. She was one of the lead trainers and eventually accepted a role as a full time trainer within the hospital. The position…

The week 2 case study talks about the dream of Alison Barnard of opening up a business of boutique jeans. According to me the time will never come when we are fully experience to start up a business. In the light of her previous experience in 2005 Alison worked and trained in boutique. While Alison was at the boutique she had gone for fashion shows, learned about retail and has also learned the accounting part of business like about the pricing, enquiring about the orders, making orders according to client interest and etc. Due to her interest in this field Alison has done a lot of researched and also completed her MBA degree to pursue her career in business and combining her experience and MBA degree she had a very good opportunity of starting up the business and being successful. Before starting up a business it is always important to have the necessary experience in that particular field and along with that it is also important to know your goods and the changing trend in the market. Having the needed experience means that you know the market and doesn’t need to consult anyone for help which can save money and you will have an advantage in the market. Similarly when we look at the case of Alison, it is clearly seen that since she had worked in 2005 with the boutique she had all the experience and information needed to proceed with the business.…
