ABSTRACT

This report details important information and issues revolved about Construction Engineering. The purpose of this report is to aide someone who is undecided on why selecting Construction Engineering could be a good or bad career choice. An interview was conducted with an experienced Construction Engineer in March 2014 who works for Verizon Wireless. The interview consisted of 15 questions ranging from how someone would get involved with Construction Engineering, potential salary and the potential stress that comes along with choosing this career field. It was concluded that many universities offer degrees in Construction Management. Your salary can range from $50k to over $150k annually. Lastly, you really need to enjoy this type of work. There will always be something wrong and you’ll be expected to fix it.

Construction Engineering is a professional discipline that deals with the designing, planning, construction, and management of infrastructures such as highways, bridges, airports, railroads, buildings, dams, and utilities. These Engineers are unique such that they are a cross between Civil Engineers and Construction Managers.
