Final Grade Argument For Class
For my final grade argument I am asking to change my F to a C. The reason for my low grade in class was due to a technical error on Canvas. It may sound like a stretch to ask for a two letter grade increase but I made it to class almost every day, payed attention in class, and I turned in all work I possibly could.
The reason it took so long to catch on to the malfunction on Canvas was because on the website it would show that I submitted the work that was due at the time, but my teachers were not receiving it. During that time it was down in class we were working on our first rhetorical analysis which was heavily weighted. I took a big hit to my grade because of that, but luckily I caught the problem before more damage to my grade could have

It is indeed a fair conclusion that clinicians are ultimately responsible for the appropriate use of a test, if the clinician is the person administering or using the test to evaluate or measure a specific aspect of the client. It is my opinion that the professional or test user, whether a mental health clinician, school district, or hospital administrator, is responsible for the use of the test. The test user should possess a knowledge and/or skills of different aspects of the assessment which include testing material, scoring, administering, and reporting test scores, as well as the ability to obtain and evaluate information about the quality, reliability, and validity of the instrument. The Code of Fair Testing Practices in Education (1999) defines a test user as “people and agencies that select tests, administer tests, commission test development and services, or make decisions on the basis of test scores” (pg. 2). According to the Code of Fair Testing Practices in Education (1999), the role and primary responsibility of the test user is to “select tasks that meet the intended purpose and that are appropriate for the intended test taker” (pg. 5).…

It was about the Epidemiology midterm exam. A lot of students apparently did not perform well on that exam, so the professor decided to curve the grades and proposed to make the midterm exam worth less. Originally, the midterm exam and final exam were both worth 40% of the final grade, and the online modules were worth 20% of the final grade, according to the syllabus. However, the instructors send out an email stating that they are proposing to change the midterm grade to from 40% to 20% and the online modules from 20% to 40% after they have discussed with our curriculum representatives.…

Indeed, service learning does serve for a well-rounded education. Especially while in college, service learning can familiarize students with companies and professionals in their chosen fields of study in their communities. I am in school to earn a Bachelors Degree in Information Technology. I would love to be immersed into a service learning program to not only gain experience in my field, but to complete a project within my community with companies that I may look to for a job upon graduation. As the article states, these students "achieve personal growth and develop a sense of civic-mindedness while addressing a community need." This type of civic engagement not only offers career preparation, but a chance to become more knowledgeable of the interaction they could have in their communities. People can look forward to this service learning and find some reward in doing it. The article goes on to say that colleges who offer service learning are seeing a spike in interest that was not present before. Many medical degrees require many observation hours for the purpose of "on-the-job learning." Why should this type of learning and experience not be shifted to other degree options in colleges nationally? Service Learning enhances formal education.…

The media not only provides us with the information, but it decides which information is important. What we see on television and the internet or what we hear on the radio is all chosen by the media. Media gives us the data that forms our opinions. It has taken away a lot of our individual qualities and so that we are much like sheep trying to imitate the media suggestions and losing our individuality and creativity.
