Problem definition: Calculate the usable area in square feet of house. Assume that the house has a maximum of four rooms, and that each room is rectangular.
A. Problem Analysis – Following the directions in the assignment, clearly write up your problem analysis in this section.
For this problem, I will calculate the square footage of a 4-room house using the formula Length * Width to obtain Area.

Room 1: Length*Width
Room 2: Length*Width
Room 3: Length*Width
Room 4: Length*Width
Area = Square Footage (Room 1 + Room 2 + Room 3 + Room 4 = Square Footage)

B. Program Design – Following the directions in the assignment, clearly write up your problem design in this section and comment your pseudocode.

Using pseudocode, I will input measurements to obtain square footage of 4-room house. Input: Rooms, measurement Calculations: length * width Output Results: Square footage Input – Enter Room Length multiplied by Width

Perform calculations
Room 1: length*width
Room 2: length*width
Room 3: length*width
Room 4: length*width

Output – Show Room Measurements
Room 1: Area
Room 2: Area
Room 3: Area
Room 4: Area

Input: Find Combined Area

Room 1 + Room 2 + Room 3 + Room 4 = Area

Output: Show square footage

C. Program Comments and Test Data – Following the directions in the assignment, include your test data and expected results in this section. Declare Variables Declare lengthfeet as float Declare widthfeet as float Declare lengthfeet as float Declare widthfeet as float Declare lengthfeet as float Declare widthfeet as float Declare lengthfeet as float Declare widthfeet as float

Value What is the length times width in feet? Input length*width Input length*width Input length*width Input length*width

II. Analysis. The intent for this program is to calculate the square footage of a house with no more than four rooms that are rectangular in shape. In order to do this we will identify each room, input the length (l) and width (w) of each room, multiply the l x w of each room to get the square foot, and add the sum of each room to secure the total square footage of the house.…

The task at hand is to design a program, using pseudocode, which will calculate the square feet of a house with no more than four rooms. It must be additionally assumed that each of these rooms is rectangular. The required output is the accurate calculation of the aggregate square footage of these rooms. The required input to arrive at this output is the length and width of each of the rooms, the multiplication of each individual room length and width, and the sum of the combined multiplication results. The required output will be obtained through proper declaration of each variable, which consists of multiple floating point values. For my analysis the length of a room will be represented as L plus a number to identify the room, such as L1. The width will similarly be represented as W1, and the area, or length times width, as A1. The resulting output, or sum of all A values, will be calculated. The following is a list of the required input and resulting output.…
