Film Techniques In Edward Scissorhands

Different directors show the different themes through camera shots. In Edward scissorhands the director, Tim Burton used different camera shots, different themes, settings and dialogue to show how the characters showed love. This will be looking at how the main character, Edward showed his love towards Kim, Peg’s daughter. Also how Peg showed her love towards him.

In the starting scene, love is shown by how Peg welcomes Edward into her home. So he can experience life with a loving family. Peg's the street's sale lady which goes around her street trying to sell makeup and beauty products, but the ladies never buy them. She sits in her car thinking about how she is going to sell her merchandise. She tilts her side mirror to look up at Edwards castle. She walks into his home and then finds Edward in a dark corner. There were a range of different film techniques used to show how Peg and Edward felt. There was a wide shot which included both characters and the background which changed how the audience felt at that moment. Peg doesn't show any fear because she wants him to feel like he's safe. This is showing that Peg wanted Edward to feel that he was in a safe environment with her.
