Sing is an animation film that was produced by Illumination Entertainment, written by Garth Jennings, and directed by Garth Jennings and Christophe Lourdelet (“Trailer and Movie Site”). The film tells the story of a Koala bear named Buster Moon, who owns a theatre that has fallen on hard times. In an attempt to save his theatre, the bear holds a singing competition in order to find new and successful acts for his shows. Animals from as small as mice to as large as elephants and giraffes made appearances in the film as main characters or minor characters. The animators paid close attention to detail in the clothing that the characters would wear according to their social status and wealth in the film. Character design as in character development was made very clear to the audience. Throughout the film, the characters changed their values and demeanors according to the events that unfolded in the film. This type of character development allowed the audience to learn the lesson behind the film. The artistic design of the film as a whole makes the audience know that it is an animation film, yet the audience could put the world into the real world because the artistic style is believable.
