Can our society survive progress?

Recently, I watched Ex Machina, a science-fiction movie about a robot with artificial intelligence. This film raises a substantial question: Can our society survive progress? I don’t think so. I believe that pushing technological development too far could put all humanity in great danger…

First and foremost, artificial intelligence is going to steal our jobs. In the coming years, many robots will take the place of human beings to do easy and repetitive tasks. As robots are more precise and effective, they could do more complicated assignments, thus a lot of people could be fired. As a matter of fact, 47 % of the jobs in the United States could be taken away from Americans in order to let robots do it.
