Fight Club: A Satire Against Modern Society
Many people watch films for entertainment or to increase adrenaline, but they underrate the ones that actually has a meaning. There are movies that influence daily lives and there are ones which reflects people's errors. David Fincher, the director of Fight Club, is known for his dramatic films and plot twists during the scenes. Fight Club is one of the most complex films that was meant to be watched more than once to understand its masterpiece. Arguably, this may be perhaps the most interesting and truthful satire against modern society of our economic world. This film successfully grabs wandering eyes to be locked on the screen by its sly statements, hidden hints, irony, and stylish flicks.
In the beginning of the movie, a gun was placed in the main character's mouth with the criminal saying, "This is it. Ground zero." The background has a dark atmosphere, so it

Soon, it became a fighting club which soon it has become an organization of destruction called Project Mayhem. However, this gang did intended to kill any living beings. They have one objective: to bring down modern civilization by erasing the economic debt to zero. Tyler Durden was the leader of this group and he planned to spread Project Mayhem all over the United States. Why? Their philosophy was that a being can only truly live life once they are rock bottom. In the end, the project succeeded once the credit card companies' skyscrapers collapsed.
Personally, I had a difficult time to understand this movie. Although I didn't understood it on the first time viewing, the plot was amazing and had prevented me from pausing the film. The more you view it, the deeper the meaning you will encounter on various scenes. Perhaps, this is a lesson that could change someone's views on consuming goods. As complex as it is, the mind-twisting plot should be a five star

Bowling For Columbine starts with archival footage of the National Rifle Association. It is included to imply that the film is endorsed by the NRA but as the footage is in black and white, compared to the rest of the film it seems that Moore has already begun positioning us. This archival footage implies that the NRA is outdated and the inclusion is therefore seen as another form of irony or social satire. A short sequence then plays with Moore narrating, showing milkmen, farmers doing their everyday rituals, children going to school and “the president bombing another country whose name we couldn't pronounce” This ironic understatement juxtaposes with the mundane routines established before and after the statement. By presenting this in such…

"It's a lovely story full of love and fun and adventure. I love this classy edition with illustrations that deliberately avoid linkage to the film. There is much more humor in the book than they could get into the film. The humor works very well and the characters are entrañables.Me likes adventures and actions in this book and especially how the book related to the cycle of hero…

For this reason, I chose this passage since this was the moment that Beli's life has permanently altered subsequent that unmerciful beating occurrence. This passage stood out while I was reading it and left an impression of heartbreak knowing the pain that Beli had to endure. After that merciless beating, I believe Beli lost confidence in humanity and died on the inside. In fact, I do not approve of violence also I disapprove of men laying a hand on any women under any circumstances. Beli's boyfriend Gangster took advantage of her because she was young and naive. Meanwhile, Beli fell for all of Gangster's dishonesty and believe all of his broken promises. Older men tend to take advantage of young girls and mold them when they are…

The American society has many different ways of occupying a person’s life with so many different activities whether it would be sports, education or entertainment. Coming from the branch of entertainment, films are made to catch someone’s attention and bring him or her into another world. Films tend to make people feel as if they are actually inside the movie itself and over time they have evolved from the technology that has been improving the world. Scott Pilgrim vs. the world, which was released in 2010 by Edgar Wright, consisted of many different elements to make the film brief and interesting. This movie used the five general…

The first scene of the film opens up inside the mind of protagonist, Jack/the Narrator. The camera slowly moves along pathways of Jack’s mind and then emerges out of his head. There, we see Jack seated with a gun in his mouth. On the other side, holding the gun is Tyler Durden. The two of them are placed on what looks like the upper floor of an office building. You hear Jack in voice-over claim that his current situation had something to do with Marla Singer. The next scene takes place in a support group containing men who are recovering from testicular cancer. Jack apparently has been attending various support groups. However, Jack is completely disease-free. Jack attends these meetings to allow him to cry and accept the pain and misery of…

Fight Club, directed by David Fincher and adapted by Jim Uhls, focuses on an insomnia stricken narrator by the name Jack (Edward Norton) who develops a relationship with a rather esoteric character by the name of Tyler Durden (Brad Pitt). Through their friendship they develop fight club, an underground boxing club turned anarchistic organization, by the code name of ‘Project Mayhem’. The idea of ‘Project Mayhem’ is to dismantle the American social structure, replacing as Tyler puts it “men raised by generation of women” with men not consumed by a fear-driven lifestyle. Tyler feels he lives in a society completely enveloped in a consumer culture, due to people’s reliance…

It has footage in the movie of screen star Bela Lugosi, most well-known for his part as Dracula, but the actor had actually passed away right after the start to Mr. Wood filming Plan 9. The footage used was some film that had been shot of him prior to his death, but not for the movie itself. The man Wood cast to play his character was ordered by Wood to keep his face covered with the cape so the audience wouldn’t see his face because they might see that it’s not Bela. It is hard to determine exactly what the plot of the movie is. It could be viewed as a movie about Aliens coming to planet earth to rob graves and then use the zombies they have created from the deceased to terrorize Americans. Or it could be a lesson on how the government tried to cover up Alien and UFO activity by threatening and/or ordering pilots and military personnel to keep them from revealing the fact that they had witnessed UFOs flying over their homes.…

Moreover, the men accurately show off what it means to be a man by joining the fight club. The men have gained the perception that to show off as a man, they get to feel the true sense of being. This has caused the men to think that if they are part of the fight club, they are following the correct meaning of manliness. The fight club has become a place for the men to let out their anger. As it all began with Tyler asking the narrator “to hit [him] as hard as [he] can,” it led to the expansion of their fight club (Palahniuk 46). When this occurred, both men realized that they enjoy the concept of fighting. Shortly later, they brought many men out to the fight club who had the same mindset of wanting to fight. For instance, the men in the fight…

There is a profound essence of self sacrifice, beliefs, and symbolic patterns within the plot. As I evaluated the film, I found that it definitely had several moral statements that would “persuade us to apply the principles in our own lives.” (Boggs & Petrie, p 17) I perceived this to be a concept of, stay true to your beliefs, humanity, and moral obligations. I also found the overall film along with the characters to incorporate social problems and the truth of human nature. “Because those characters are representative of humanity in general, they serve as a cinematic vehicle to illustrate some widely or universal acceptable truth about human nature”. (Boggs & Petrie, p…
