Observing this toddler has taught me many things. I was able to learn about the different forms of child development and what it looks like. One of the major forms of child development is physical. The child experiences major child development during the first two years of life. During this time the child experiences gross-motor development. The skills obtained from these developments are the ability to run, jump, catch etc. During the observation of the infant I was able to witness some of these developments. For example over the course of my observation I noticed the infant had significantly improved his ability to stand up and sit down on his own. He was struggling when the observation but seemingly got more comfortable doing it over and over again. The walking stared to become natural and more second nature however it was awkward and difficult when the infant just started. The infant also became more comfortable gripping and grasping objects. Another form of development observed was cognitive development. This development includes the ability to think rhetorically and the ability to communicate with others. The child made significant development in this field he was able to learn more words and express his thoughts in an understanding manner. The infant’s ability to play and interact with other children has increased. His memory has increased and is able to remember certain things over time his able to memorize more things and can recognize familiar faces. The final form of physical development is social-emotional development. This stage involves dealing with other children and being able to pay attention to adult figures. The infant is able to obey the adults and other persons in charge. They also become more comfortable at expressing their emotions. The child is also able to learn empathy and…

It is a typical day for me and my alarm just went off. I hop out of bed, go to the bathroom and then fix breakfast. Right afterwards I head over to my computer and go to my favorites tab. From here, I open multiple tabs all containing message boards to my favorite anime artists. Hours fly by as I sit there reading what everyone else had to say about a particular drawing, or how everyone had taken my post from last night. All throughout my surfing time I pop in a Hot Pocket or two; something quick with little mess. With the den a mess and my obsession still feeding, mom will be home soon. I know I should probably pick up after myself, but I think mom likes to clean. She does it every day. Instead of cleaning up, I decide to do a Google search looking for more fan sites. Now its five thirty and mom strolls in with her hands full of groceries. I acknowledge her with a simple greeting and then return to my screen. After putting the groceries up she walks into the den. With an irritated tone she simply says, “You couldn’t have picked up your food wrappers when you were done eating.” With a simple shrug and “I forgot,” I continue to surf through the pages. Moments later my mom comes back and sits down in the den, right behind me. I spin my chair around and she requests a moment to talk. The entire time we talked, the only thing I could hear was blah, blah, blah, until she ended her statement with, “Aren’t you ever going to grow up? You are doing the same things you were doing almost ten years ago in high school. You need higher education and a career. You can’t keep living like you’re fifteen.” I was speechless. Never had I stopped to think about what I was doing with myself, just kind of kept playing games. Where was I heading in life as a student, child, and citizen? I started looking for a job and wanted to apply for college, but I could not pull myself from my…

The purpose of this court case was to determine whether or not it should be taken into a motion of summary judgement. The plaintiff in the case was Deborah White. White was represented by Amanda Babbitt and Jackson Walsh. The defendants in this case are Patrick Gibbs; and O’Malley’s Tavern. The representatives of the defendants were Benjamin Walton and Jordan Van Meter. Before summarizing the arguments of the plaintiff and the defendant, there will be a short summarization of the incident.…

Today many public schools have pre-kindergarten programs. The children in these programs come from different experiences, backgrounds, and all have different needs. Pre-kindergarten programs give children an advantage to learning prior to kindergarten. I performed my second filed observation at Pinkston Street Elementary School in Henderson, NC. The elementary school is in a rural county and this school has lots of diversity in which there are African-American, Caucasian, and Mexican students. The classroom that I observed is one of four pre-kindergarten classrooms in the school. The elementary school is also one of three of the schools in the county to require…

I was very surprised when I took the Career Profiler; I had taken something like this when I was a senior in high school. In high school my results suggested that I should do something in agriculture, and now 11 years later it suggests that I should do something in Business, Finance or Law. These results were not surprising to me. These are things that I have actually always been interested in. I think that knowing my competencies is really going to help me with my critical thinking in the future. I had never really considered myself someone who thought logically, but according to my results I do. Knowing this will help me to stop second guessing myself whenever I think I am way off from the mark. I already knew that I am a researcher, because I love knowing everything about everything, I love to investigate topics and see where things started. Having this confirmed will give me the confidence to trust my instincts about myself. I have always loved writing and I already use it to my benefit. So researching and writing are competencies that I already knew that I possessed and having them confirmed was nice.…

Within the museum you’re exposed to over 30,000 artifacts and several exhibitions that were primarily set out for individual pieces of African American history. It made me feel like I was taking a closer encounter with history and the importance of the African American culture and life. Every exhibition had its own feel to it, and its own relevance, with each display and individual storyline, made it all the more very special. I think with every exhibition, the intention was to make people feel like they were truly once a part of that time and age. Although, it’s difficult to imagine any more of what lies in the roots of African American history and life, I…

Doing an observation of someone you kind of have this idea in the back of your head of what kind of job he has. I realized that the image you have in your mind really is just what the everyday person sees. While I observed Keith Lytle I figured I would just see the same normal stuff that I see all the time when on the baseball field. I was wrong in so many ways. Keith not only has to break down the swings of the hitters on the team and put them through drills so make sure their swing is where it needs to be; he also works with the position players as well on the fielding aspects on the game. Once he was done with the practice side of things, Keith went into his office and started making some phone calls to see if there were any kids who were on his list who were interested in attending the program for next season. After the phone calls had been made he went outside to what we on the team would call his second car. He started up the lawn mower and began mowing the field, which he does every single day.…

According to the text, descriptive research is defined as a type of method in which a researcher or public official closely observes someone. With the data collected, they can then describe what is being observed without interrupting how the person is behaving. In relation to the topic of school shootings, the researcher would have to take into consideration many different aspects. The time frame leading up to the crime and after is a very crucial point in the case. The researcher would have to find out the intent behind why the person decided to commit the crime. Also, did the individual have any serious mental health issues, family problems, a victim of bullying, or any type of discrimination.…
