Field Travel Artifact
The artifact created in a tri-fold brochure to promote and inform students and parents of an upcoming field trip. It was created on microsoft work using text, images, and word art to produce a playful display of information. I could use this to create other brochures of possible future field trips or informative information home of an upcoming school event for students, parents, and staff. I gain clarity in my works by visualizing the problems and objectives through a series of moving images or short films as a result of my imagination. Visualizing my objectives allows me to take a consumer's perspective and gain insight on how my work may be interpreted. The solutions I gain from my imagination will determine what medium I use to create the final product. Whether the medium used is a short motion graphic, photography, hand-drawn illustration, or the physical product itself, every aspect of a project is critically examined to enhance the experience. Thorough research is also reflected in how the graphic design such as colour, typography, and composition weave back to support the story being…

My chosen research topic is the natural dietary supplement Spirulina. Spirulina is a simple one-celled microscopic blue-green algae with the scientific name of “Arthrospira platensis”. It is grown in tropical, high salt alkaline waters where there is strong sunlight and a pollution free environment. The algae is harvested and spray dried and presents in a powder form for further processing. By volume Spirulina has unusually high concentrations of proteins, vitamins & minerals when compared to other plant and animal based nutritional sources, for this reason Spirulina has attracted growing interest from the health and beauty industries.…

Digital technology has revolutionized information delivery. Forever blurring the lines between information and entertainment, yesterday’s readers of books and newspapers are today’s readers of e-books and news blogs. Countless readers have moved on from print information entirely. Choosing instead to point, click, and scroll, their way through a text on their Amazon kindle or in an online forum. Once a nation of people spoon-fed television commercials and the six o’clock evening news, we are now seemingly addicted to Youtoube. Remember the family trip when Dad and Mom wrestled with a road map? On the way to St. Louis…
