Initiating Process

Fiction Corporation is a large national retail chain of 10,000 employees and 500 retail outlets. Fiction wishes to upgrade its network and correct any security flaws. As a result they will be moving their primary data center to a new location several miles away from their present location. Big-Proj has been chosen to oversee this project from pre-move to post-move due do our high-level approach to managing projects on time, on schedule, and stay within Fiction's captial budget of $500,000. 2.BUSINESS NEED
Fiction Corporation has approved Project “Seamless,” as a means of upgrading their data center to meet the ever-increasing demands for speed and capacity. 3.PRODUCT SCOPE DESCRIPTION
Project Management will provide a detailed project schedule, team structure, identification of any pitfalls in advance, contingency plan, and Big Proj and Fiction Corporation requirements are identified. Roles and responsibilities are identified as to avoid misunderstandings, human error, and possible delays.

The best way to initiate this project is to name the project. As such, we have decided to name this project, “Operation Seamless.” This is due to the fact that our client, Fiction Corporation wishes a seamless migration that minimizes impact on its customers and employees. As such, the project team will include:
Big-Proj team of PMP-certified project managers and facilities staff
Fiction CEO
Fiction Network managers
Third party vendor (i.e., Electrical Company) to verify power capacity of the new location
Other subcontractors Specific activities will be categorized as:
Pre-Move Site Preparation
Move Plan Creation
Move Implementation
Post-Move Consulting 5. APPROVALS
