Felicity Jaramillo: An Effective Leader
Ibrahim Danladi
Felicity Jaramillo is one of the most effective and humble leaders I know. She is a leader who continuously sacrifices for the people she leads and the people in her life. After graduating college, she paused on furthering her academic goals, and pursuing a career to take care of her hundred-year-old grandmother who have dementia. Felicity's sacrifices transcend beyond just her family. A leader is someone who inspires people, who can be clutch as a forerunner to get started on a way of thinking; or sometimes a leader is the fearless one who steps in a place no one has dared to and when they do, they do so without remorse. A leader doesn’t look back at what has passed, but instead looks ahead at what’s to come. A leader is honest, caring and has integrity. A leader confronts challenges and does not let the voice of haters or malicious people bring them down. A great leader, not just a leader can do all of these things and when they are pushed down they can get back up and keep going like no one has touched them. A leader, who fits this description in my eyes, is Sarah Palin.…

After reading the paper about Charismatic Leadership: Reflections From Personal Life Experiences by Dr. Andrew Anane-Asane, I had the chance to also evaluate my life and my leadership style. I have several leadership roles in my life, apart from being the first-born son of my parents, I’m also an Associate Producer in my work, and a youth leader in our local church, Lighthouse Christian Community Sta. Rosa. In my high school and college years, I am most of the time appointed or elected in a certain leadership status, though as a kid I’m the repressed quite bullied kid in the corner of the room, I actually can’t understand how the sense of leadership sprung in me. And there are times that I find myself caught up in a puzzle because I’m not really…

As the class of 2017 we are the start of a new tree or a generation. We are the leaves of the tree. The trunk is our foundation who are our teachers or parents. And the branches of our new tree is the impact we have on society. Even though we are just one class in a billion of 2017 classes we can make a difference. We can become those leaders. We can make the next year of homecoming one no one will ever forget. We can set a new tradition for our school. A leader is a problem solver, not a finger pointer. A leader inspires others to do their best, not teach them the wrong and a leader does not tell people how to do something but simply shows them how they have done it. All of these qualities falls under leadership. The definition of leadership is “a process of social influence in which one person can enlist the aid and support of others in the accomplishment of a common task” now you can’t tell me Rebecca Rowland does not have those qualities. I bet she has helped every single one of us in here in some way or another. She is the person we need as our leader, as our class president. She is the person who, out of all of us, deserves to be the president the most. Academically she is outstanding! Socially she is the bomb! She gets along great with almost every one she meets. Rebecca L. Rowland should be, and needs to be your new 2013-2014 class…
