Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration Case Study
The name of the agency that I researched was the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). The FMCSA is a regulatory agency. The title of the agency is “Qualification of Drivers; Exemption Applications: Diabetes.” The Date of the regulation was April 12. This is a rule that was proposed by FMCSA to renew the exemptions of 130 individuals from its ruling that prohibits people with insulin-treated diabetes mellitus from operating commercial motor vehicles in interstate commerce. This regulation established within the Department of Transportation on January 1, 2000. The primary mission of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) is to reduce crashes, injuries, and fatalities involving large trucks and buses. The agency’s …show more content…
They can hold employment at federal, state, or local government agencies. In which each is held responsible for its own employment system. Some of the different job categories within this agency of transportation are Federal Aviation, Federal Highway Traffic Safety, and Federal Transit Administration.
There is more than one type of agency through the government, there is the Cabinet/Executive Department, Government Corporations, Regulatory Agencies, and Independent Executive. The cabinets departments are the organization of service for the Federal Government. They carry out task such as printing money and training troops. Within the Government Corporations, there are two cooperation’s a private and a public corporation, which have important distinguishing characteristics. A private corporation makes a profit and must pay taxes. After taxes are paid the remaining money is to be distributed to its shareholders. Compared to a public corporation where the company has a board of directors, taxes are not paid, and the profit remains in the hands of the company.
