INTRODUCTION

A. Background of the Study Fruit milkshakes have a delightful and pretty mild taste, not too sweet but just perfect to appeal with the consumers taste buds. Our milk shakes have many varieties like banana, mango, pineapple, chocolate and cookies and cream milkshakes or blend them all depending on the customer’s preference. Aside from fruits as a main ingredient, it is also has a non-fat milk and green stevia. Our product will offer many health benefits that are good for the body and will cater the increasing demand for a healthy food and beverage choice, diets and losing weight. Banana fruit is common to have many health benefits in our body. The curve yellow fruit are high in potassium and pectin, a form of fiber and also be a good way to get magnesium and vitamins C and B6 for the protection of your immune system. Bananas contain potassium that is good for your heart and provide high levels of antioxidants phenolic compounds that are helpful in preventing risk of kidney cancer (Jessie Szalay, 2014). Cocoa also known as chocolate is one of the nature’s many miracles, it demonstrates significant benefits for the cardiovascular system, helping to reduce the risk of heart attack and stroke, reduce the risk of high blood pressure, and even reduce the risk of cancer. Furthermore, cocoa consumption is associated with reduced cognitive decline in old age. Pineapple is a very popular fruit worldwide because of its sweet taste and juicy texture. In addition to tasting good, it offers numerous nutritional benefits. Pineapple has bromelain that helps body when breaking down protein particles during digestion, an anti-inflammatory, anti-clotting and also has detox properties. It is said to have very high content of Vit. C helps in collagen synthesis and body to fight against foreign bodies (Medical Health, 2014). Mango is one of the delicious seasonal fruits grown in the tropics. Mango fruit is rich in prebiotic dietary fiber, vitamins, minerals, and poly-phenolic flavonoid antioxidant compounds. According to new research study, mango fruit has been found to protect against colon, breast, leukemia and prostate cancers. Several studies suggest that poly-phenolic antioxidant compounds in mango are known to offer protection against breast and colon cancers (Umesh Rudrappa, 2014). Low-fat milk is also one of the product offers the goodness of milk but minus the fat, this makes it an easy addition to one’s balanced diet. It gives nutrition to those who put importance to managing to control their weight and staying fit. We use green stevia as a sweetener. It is an all-natural food supplement that is said to be 300 times sweeter than ordinary sugar. Proven by experts, green stevia has zero calories, zero fats, zero sodium and zero cholesterol (Livesey, 2003). Milkshakes are now become more and more in demand in the field of business. Milkshakes shows profitable additions to most business beverage menus. The key to increasing sales for both milkshakes and other frozen beverages is offering a product that the consumer perceives as too difficult or not as good if prepared at home. Denny’s, coined as America’s Diner, experience firsthand how adding new coffee and milkshake flavors could increase the bottom line. They attributed their increase in guest check averages to their expanded beverage menu selections. Adding to MINTEL’s “Trends in Snacking and Value Menus in Foodservice-U.S. June 2012”, 19% of consumers typically order shakes as a snack. The most popular age group who order shakes is ages 18-24, which translates to 1/3 of the beverage market. The profitability margin is outstanding with shakes (Arrington, 2014) Here in the Philippines, its climate is distinguished by having relatively high temperature and also have high humidity. This is the reason why chilled drinks are well liked and popular. The Fruit Shake is one of the more popular cold beverages among Filipinos, especially during the hit summer seasons (“Fruit Shake,” 2009). We make this product proposal for the purpose that we want to serve our valued customers a product which is good for the health. Nowadays, people are very health conscious, they look for nutritious drinks to keep their body healthy both adults and young ones, our product will offer numerous health benefits that are good for the body and will cater the ever increasing demand for a healthy food and beverage choice, diets and losing weight. In our country’s climate, many people choose to buy cold beverages that will cool them down throughout the day. This study was developed because we want to offer our customer a product that will serves as coolers especially in our hot weather today fit for a tropical country. These beverages are all purely fresh fruits like banana, mango, pineapple, chocolate and cookies and cream blended with low-fat milk and a nutritious sweetener, stevia. It provides a cold and at the same time sweet sensation to customers. Our target customers are the employees, faculty, and students of Davao Doctors College, and also the people around the institution.

Name of the Business

The name of the business is one of the important things that are needed in the business. “Shake-It-Off” is the primary name of the business. It is the idea of our group to choose this name because our products are delicious yet nutritious cold milkshakes that will shake off your problems and weary throughout the day. We created this kind of name in our business because it’s easy to memorize or to familiarize by the customers, it is a unique name and it could be a trademark for quality products.

Objectives of the Study This study is conducted in order to give a happiness and joy for those kids, teenagers and adults who want to buy this special food milk shake. The big difference of our business is the low start-up capital and profit margin. Also for us entrepreneurs, we choose this business because it is easy to make and affordable.
Our study lies on these following purposes:
1. It is to provide goods or services and make money as a result.
