MY FAVOURITE SPORT

My favourite sport is tennis. Tennis is a sport in what each player uses a racket that is strung to strike a hollow rubber ball covered with felt over a net into the opponent's court. I started playing tennis when I was 8 years old because my parents enrolled me in a course. Firstly I didn’t like it a lot because I didn’t hit the ball since the racket was very huge for me. But along the years I have improve a lot and now I love it. I don’t have much time because I have a lot of exams but I try to get some time always because to play tennis is a good way for getting rid of stress.

I like everything about playing tennis; nonetheless I don’t like to watch tennis matches.
The more I see tennis matches less I like it because it bored me alot. However I went to “La Casilla” to watch a benefit match of Verdasco and Nadal five years ago, I bored a lot but I don’t regret going because as a consequence of going I know Verdasco and Nadal who are very good tennis players. I strongly believe that to play tennis has a lot of benefits such as the risks of illnesses are less, it improves your coordination, the stress decreased… Besides it entertains you and you enjoy a lot. Thus I think that in spite of you can injure it worth you.

I advice to people, who want to take it up try to going to somewhere for instance to “El Fango” to take lessons, where they are very cheap and you only have to carry a racket and wear properly clothes. If I where they I will wear leggings o a sport skirt, a comfortable shirt and adequate trainers. And about the racket I would advice they to go to Decathlon and to ask for it, due to there they recommend you what is the best racket for you.

To sum up, I encourage everyone to play tennis. I assure you that you will enjoy it a lot. Don’t worry if firstly you don’t do well, finally if you practice you will do fine. The more you practice the more you

Start at an early age- I started at a young age, and I turned out great. It brings experience to make you like the sport, and you do not want to start at age ten, because there is people who have started way before you and they will most likely be better than you. So if you start early, you will get a head start on the sport that you want to play. It also makes you figure out what happens when you get to the next level, instead of being brought into a high intensity level where you won’t play much, but if you did start early, then you would be better at that level.…

At five I was running around on the tennis court with racket that is bigger then I am. Well I can say for sure that I missed my childhood. While my friends were playing outside I was on the tennis court working hard for my future. Even though I did not realize it then. I never had friends that would be there for me and through all sore and crumping muscles, through tears and pain I got stronger, independent and more mature then people at the same age of mine are. I made my mother’s dream come true. Out of every victory I remember how proud she is that I am here in America while these other kids that were paying hide and seek while I had practice are back home and probably doing drugs. And I am actually very happy that I am playing tennis 15 years already but at the same time I love music more then anything. At the same time I was playing and giving piano concerts for 3 years. But my parents did not approve it. My friend Vladik would say “You should act on your own best interest. You shouldn’t play tennis and build your life on it if you love music more then tennis.” Well I guess I could agree with him but at the same time that is all my life and I do not want to quit in the middle of the road. Because through all these 15 years I made my own dream to open a tennis academy in NYC. Well my cousin would say “The only desirable goal is the creating of happiness and pleasure and the elimination of pain. And since tennis is bringing you a lot of pain and sufferings then you should do music instead since it is what you love. But at the end you will be judged based on consequence…

“Tennis is lonely. There is nowhere to hide when things go wrong. No dugout, no sideline, no neutral corner. It’s just you out there naked” (57). This quote may mean nothing to people who don’t play tennis, but for tennis players, it defines the way it feels on the tennis court. “It's no accident, I think, that tennis uses the language of life. Advantage, service, fault, break, love, the basic elements of tennis are those of everyday existence, because every match is a life in miniature. Even the structure of tennis, the way the pieces fit inside one another like Russian nesting dolls, mimics the structure of our days. Points become games become sets become tournaments, and it's all so tightly connected that any point can become the turning point. It reminds me of the way seconds become minutes become hours, and any hour can be our finest. Or darkest. It's our choice.” This is one of Andre’s most meaningful quotes from the book. Almost everyone who reads the quote, can learn a lot about life. Andre may be writing about tennis, but there are so countless universal themes that apply to…

My mother started playing it at 13 because she has bronchitis and could no longer swim at the level that she hoped too. So, she dedicated herself to playing tennis and eventually became top 200 in the world. My father on the other hand started playing at around the same age but he never became as good as her. In fact, when they met is when my father improved drastically because he had my mother as a coach. After he started to win is when he became a major tennis fanatic and when I say major, I mean wake everyone up at 2 in the morning to watch tennis matches. So when my parents got married and had their first kid and then three years later, they had me. Naturally, they tried to get my brother to start playing tennis at a very young age but he just wasn't feeling it and as much as it hurt my dad, they just kept putting him into different sports. But then he turned 7 and my father took him with this lady that was teaching at the courts he was playing at and that was the start of my brothers career. Since my big brother started playing then its just normal that I did too. At age four I picked up my racquet and little did I know how much that racquet would change my life. I don't really remember much of my early tennis days so I'm going to fast forward three years. By the time I was seven I was ready to start playing tennis tournaments but my coach, Ms. Janan, wouldn't let me until I got…

Tennis had been part of my life, since I first saw Roger Federer on the TV and it had been my favorite sport since then. Unlike other the athletes of other sports, a great tennis player has to be both intelligent and athletic. Also if you noticed the 2 flags that right by the drawing, it’s the flag of United States and the flag of China. I have lived in both countries, I do not know which one I enjoy more, but what I do know is both of them are important parts of my identity. Last, under my picture, there is a line that says, “It’s hard to beat a person who never gives up.” That has been my motto since 7th grade, I came up with that line when watched the 32 years old Roger federer won the Wimbledon men’s…
