This quote represents Miss Brill’s old age. Using the autumn season means that Miss Brill is long past her prime and is about to enter the final stage of her life – winter. Also, the “yellow leaves” described in the story are colourless and decayed, just like Miss Brill. At the end of the story, the boy and the girl basically say that Miss Brill is decayed and obsolete by calling her a “stupid old thing” who wears a very weird fur around herself.…

Maybe it's hard-wired into us that spring has to do with childhood and youth, summer with adulthood and romance and fulfillment and passion, autumn with decline and middle age and tiredness but also harvest, winter with old age and resentment and death. The sunset glistens against the raging ocean water. I could walk for miles on the sand as it is ongoing never ending. While your feet sink in the sand I can ponder the peacefulness around me. The way the two rocks were hit by the glowing sunrise set a reflection of crystals in the clear water. There was a slight misty breeze, as I walked along the water. The Oregon coast is my sanctuary with the two most beautiful rocks that stood on the edge of the unknown below them.…

The days have gone fast in the East. If the wind were not so strong, I would not have realised that it was already the end of October. Perhaps it is on account of Shelley: “if winter comes, can spring be far behind?” Even though spring will not be too far, it will never be the same as the year that I arrived and met you, who was more gorgeous than I would never find again.…

Fall foliage season is the most colorful time in North Georgia, when swathes of autumn gold blanket the mountains and valleys and brilliant fall colors light up the landscape. Autumn stirred us with an irresistible urge to get in the car and go looking for fall color. During the few months of Fall, my family would take a leisurely drive each Sunday afternoon winding through the Appalachian Mountains to see the beautiful array of different- colored foliage including vibrant reds, golden-yellows, and bright orange touching an impossibly blue sky. The leaves would change colors and become the most splendid right before falling off of the trees.…

The park seemed more peaceful than ever with the fresh green grass and clear blue clouds filling the background.…
