Music is more than a hobby
What is music? Music is the art of combining instruments and/or vocals to produce a wonderful form of harmony and expression of emotions. Listening to music provides a clear view on life. It influences you to make you feel certain ways, or to retain a certain feeling. Whether it is love, sorrow, or teaching you to believe in yourself. It helps you and impacts your mood, making you likely to to do something that you have never done before, and inspire you to get something done (E, 2009). As a young adult, I listen to music every single day. I can just about name every song that is played on the radio. Listening to music allows me to release all the stress from my mind. Listening to music is my favorite hobby.
Music comes in a variety of genres. The genres that I listen to the most are R&B and Hip-Hop. I listen to R&B because each song tells a different story that the artist has already experienced in their lifetime. I like Hip-Hop because of the different beats. Music to me is like a dog to a bone. The artists I like to listen to are K. Michelle, Nicki Minaj, Chris Brown, August Alsina, and Trey Songz. People are addicted to many things, but music is my addiction. Music has different meanings. To understand a song, I would have to listen to that specific song repeatedly. It may seem like I do not have a life, but I do, it just requires music most of the time. Once again, music is my passion and addiction. And I would never break that habit.
Music is a sense of escape for me, without it I would lose my mind. Having music make it easier for you to get anything and everything done.

Music often describes one's deepest emotions from the beginning to the end. It may take talent to perform, but there is no talent needed to understand the emotions and stories present throughout a chorus or melody. Sometimes it's hard to talk or properly explain problems to others or even relate to other people who you may trust. Music is always changing like ourselves through time and that is an easy way to relate and discover more about yourself. I have turned to music countless times through either listening or performing a piece depending on my current mood, which is often upset or sad rather than the mask…
