You should be submitting a typed, double-spaced, size 12 font paper approximately 3-5 pages in length. Any papers should be submitted in MLA or APA citation format. After you have written your finished assignment, upload your paper as a file to the Turnitin Assignment located on Moodle. Papers not uploaded to Turnitin will not be accepted.

Film Analysis Option
Films to choose from: The Grapes of Wrath (1940), Born on the Fourth of July (1989), Malcolm X (1992), Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner (1967), Patton (1970), Apocalypse Now (1979), The Majestic (2001), Schindler’s List (1993)
Directions: Watch ONE of any of the films noted above. Record your reactions while watching the film. When finished, write a paper that includes the following: the title of the film, director’s name, and year it was made, a brief summary of the movie (no more than one paragraph), a brief account of your personal reaction (what impact did the viewing the film have on you?), and a historical analysis of the film (analysis of historical accuracy). The final portion of the historical analysis is the most important part of your paper, and should be the longest, most in-depth portion of your analysis. HINT: some of these movies will not be historically accurate. You must identify these aspects in your paper with citation for correct information.
Choose a couple of the following questions to address for critical portion of paper or analysis. You are not required to answer all of the questions in one paper. Every paper must address at least one historical question.
