Family Health Assessment A family is a body of individuals that are related by blood, adoption, cohabitation, or marriage who reliantly perform important capacities by satisfying certain roles. Important family capacities incorporate practices and qualities put on wellbeing (Rentfro, 2014). Gordon’s eleven functional health patterns help arrange essential family assessment data. Assessment incorporates evaluation of useless examples inside families with relating subtle elements in one or a greater amount of the other related patterns (Rentfro, 2014). The father and mother are satisfied with their sexual relationship. They made a vow after the birth of their son that they would always make time for one another, and they do. They are currently happy with one child, but feel that if they become pregnant, it is meant to be.
Coping/Stress Pattern The coping-stress tolerance pattern serves to delineate the family 's adjustment to both inner and outside weights (Rentfro, 2014). As stated earlier in the paper, the family has very effective communication with one another. The father’s mother passed away earlier this year and they were very close. The father states that his wife has been very supportive and so has his son. Work has him stressed sometimes, but he tries not to take work home. The parents have a couple glasses of wine together with dinner every night but it’s not to help cope with stress. Majority of the time, the family is relaxed.

The mother and child are at risk for constipation. The child drinks prune juice on a regular basis and the mother has a bowel movement on average every other day. The mother and father both have sleep disturbance. They both wake up a few times during the night. In conclusion, the family health assessment using Gordon’s eleven functional health patterns permitted accumulation of information important to focus the family 's impression of their wellbeing, instructive needs and distinguishing proof of wellbeing issues and objectives. The family appears very educated on maintaining good health and preventing colds. They also have strong values and beliefs they follow in order to make their marriage work and keep their family together and stress
