FAMILY ENGAGEMENT RECOMMENDATIONS

Ask students what they are producing.
Have the students add due dates to the family calendar.
Ask how well your student’s group is working together, and guide them in thinking through any difficulties.
Task-Specific Support:
Invite families to attend the wax museum, so that students have an authentic audience.
Help students create costumes, displays and props for their wax museum presentations (this could be made from construction paper).
Read books at home about American symbols and historical figures.
Take advantage of the location connections and visit monuments throughout Washington, D.C.
