Fair is foul

In the play Macbeth by William Shakespeare false appearances seam to appear quite often in the play with many characters. The weird sisters, Lady Macbeth, Macbeth and even Malcolm put on a fake personality. The main thing to remember is even though someone may seam to be a way doesn’t necessarily mean that they will not try to kill you in your sleep. Appearance is not every thing, just like you are told to judge a book by its cover. You never know how things can unravel when getting to know a person.
The witches, or the weird sisters are evil and deceiving. In the play you can tell that they are up to no good but Macbeth feel that they are helping him. The prophecies that were given to Macbeth were starting to become true, he then started to put some trust towards the weird sisters, but in reality the sisters were just toying his mind and only telling him things that will be very motivating to the choices that Macbeth decides to make. The sisters told Macbeth that he would be king, in which it concluded with Macbeth killing innocent people to make that one prophecy come true. They told him that only someone not of woman born could kill him, which led him to think that he was basically untouchable and no one could ever kill him. What Macbeth thought was not true and he ended up dead. Even though what the witches told Macbeth might have seamed to be useful information, when you look at what those words did it is not very helpful in the end. These examples show how the witches represented appearance vs. reality. The weird sisters were the instigators of the play; their wicked lies pushed Macbeth to commit the horrific deeds that he did. The witches really showed the meaning of “Fair is Foul and Foul is Fair”

Lady Macbeth and Macbeth were not the people who they were leading on to be. Lady Macbeth was expected to be a sweet and innocent woman. A woman who couldn’t handle the truth, she was thought by others to be week and a peaceful woman. That is the person she
