Fahrenheit 451 Diary Entry Analysis

My name is Professor Sharon Jung and I am the first person in the WORLD to travel through time. I have been studying Ancient Greece for some time and I have been waiting for this moment for AGES. With all my courage, I took a deep breath and stepped into the time machine. 448 BCE As soon as I stepped out of the time machine, it was as if I was walking into a whole new world. Loud, busy and dirty. The streets of Athens, or Aktaio as you may call it in Ancient Greece, were amazing. Buildings completely made of marble, people everywhere, it was a fascinating place. Although this city wasn’t that big, it was peaceful and this city flourished. I looked around and saw barely any females. I remembered from my research that women were to stay home and do household chores. I quickly disguised myself as a male. I wore a tunic, and a wide-brimmed hat to hide my face. As I examined every little thing I could see, a trembling slave came up to me. “Oh, dear sir, please help me. My master is about to whip me.” I couldn’t think of anything else, but to run with the stranger, holding his hand. We came to an alley, and after checking several times that his master was out of sight, the slave sat down. We looked at each other and we both gasped. The kid was so young. He only looked like a teenager. When he saw my face, I thought about all the things he could have been thinking of. “You’re a girl” he blurted out. I quickly covered his mouth and whispered. ‘I’ll help you if you don’t tell anyone that I am a girl.’ He slowly nodded his head and I let my hand that was covering his mouth drop. I examined him more carefully. He was covered in bruises and blood, I gasped again. He was covered in bruises. Probably from being whipped by his master. That’s what he had said that his master would do. I asked for his name, and he said
