Fahrenheit 451 Compared To Today

In the book Fahrenheit 451 the society is very different from the modern Society that we currently live in. For instance the three different compare and contrast themes I have picked is tech, the tech they have in this dystopia is a lot better than our current tech like the robotic dog they have. The second theme I have picked is empathy, in today’s current society people are very heartbroken when people commit suicide, in their society it’s just an everyday thing for them. The third and final theme I have picked is their firemen, in our society it is illegal to burn people alive or kill anyone for that matter but in their society it’s fine to burn people alive it’s just an everyday thing for them.
In their society the technology they have is very futuristic, one of the technology updates they have is their robotic dog. The robotic dog they have is very different from the one we have in this society considering our dog is for kids to play with and to entertain kids. “Montag touched the muzzle. The hound growled . Montag jumped back.”( Bradbury page 22 ) Where the robotic dog in their society is a dog that hunts and kills people. The dog in that society has 8 legs, red eyes, and a needle in their back that is used to poison and kill people. The dogs and robotic dogs in our society only have 4 legs and don’t have a needle in their back to kill people. However they do have a few similarities like, people in that society keep it in fire stations, just like how firemen keep Dalmatians in our society.
