Kurt Soller and Sarah Kliff both wrote short stories about their opinion on Facebook and their personal experiences with it. Kurt titled his “Facebook: Why I Love It..” and Sarah titled hers “Facebook: Why I Hate It..”. Facebook has changed the way most people live their life. Get this. More than 1 billion people use Facebook everyday. (Nieva, 2013) Some use it to communicate as others use it to play games. People may say they use it to get to know somebody and some people say it’s a distraction and waste to much time on it. Facebook is loved and hated by many but has helped pave the way for better communication and advertising. Why is Facebook loved?

Kurt explains it best when he says, “I have three fond memories from my senior year of high school: the day I got my college acceptance letter, the day I graduated, and the day I joined Facebook” (Soller 817). He believes Facebook is one of the best things that happened to him in his young-adult days. Mr. Kurt Soller uses Facebook as his personal assistant. It allows him to stay in touch with new and old friends without him having to “play phone tag or awkward lunches” (Soller 818). With pictures being uploaded daily from friends and family, he say it “eliminates the secret diary or crafty scrapbook” (Soller 818). He believes that Facebook is the best way to interact with friends and family during our busy lives. Why is Facebook hated?

Facebook isn’t for everybody, and Sarah Kliff is one of those people. She hates it. She finds herself logging onto it dozens of times a day. Kliffs obsession with Facebook has made her loose time from studying, working, and even hanging out with friends. She admits that most of her friends on Facebook are just “virtual relationships at best” (Kliff 820). Most importantly Sarah points out that, “the network is as much about obsessing over the dull details of my life as it as about connecting with others”...
