In ‘Facebook is killing communication,’ Victor Visage claims that Facebook hinders people’s ability to develop communication skills. He says this for the following reasons. He does not realize that Facebook has come up with a way to communicate to people who may not be able to communicate verbally. In addition, he did not consider Facebook has made it easier for people who live busy lives to communicate with one another without being near them. So, although Victor Visage might be right in saying that it erodes face to face communication skills, it opens up new way of communicating for people who might not be able to verbally communicate or just don’t have the time.
Second, Victor Visage mistakenly states that Facebook promotes poor communication and friendship skills. He is wrong about this to because Facebook has become so universal that it allows you to make friendships with people from all around the world.
