FM Jazmyne Incident Case Study
Ct came in to case management feeling upset about the incident that had occurred early Saturday morning involving FM Jazmyne.
Ct shared that he has always been allowed to pass sack lunches before with all the other FMs; however Ct shared that FM Jazmyne was rude and inconsistent with all the other FMs. CM will consult with a FMS/CD to find out if residents are allowed to pass sack lunches.

Ct was calmed down and advised to adhere to Mission's Policies. Ct agreed.

This week was very diverse in the activities that I did. The court review for Jamarion Lawhorn was very interesting. His case happened 3 years ago when he stabbed a boy at a playground and the victim died. Lawhorn was waived as an adult in the case. This reflects the juvenile and adult systems which I was taught about in my classes. When he turns 19 he will be done with the juvenile home and at that time they will have to decide what to do with him. He could still potentially get prison time as an adult. It was nice to know about the systems and how they worked to really understand what could happen in his case in the future.…

Discussion Questions 1. Evaluate this situation from the view point of David Edmondson’s ethical leadership. What could Radio Shack have done differently? In this world some people want money and power. To gain these two things often people choose the wrong ways. David Edmondson is one of them, because he cheated on his resume. David Edmondson is a fraud that means he is not an ethical leader at all. Because of Edmondson’s cheating his company RadioShack faced losses, so he didn’t do ethical leadership in his workplace. If a manager cheats, lies, steals, manipulates, take advantages of situations, or treat others unfairly that is not an ethical behavior. That is called unethical behavior. We can see lying on David Edmondson’s case, so we can say that he didn’t behave as an ethical leader. According to the text, “Ethical leadership is known as our core values and having the courage to live them in all parts of our life in service of the common good.” Before entering to a company a manager should know what is ethical leadership. If a manager doesn’t know what ethical leadership is, then he/she will never fulfill their job properly. If a manager doesn’t have knowledge about ethical leadership then he will do unethical things in a company. Also, unethical leadership can create many problems, such as ethical lapses and social irresponsibility. To prevent all of these things in an organization we have to give ethics training, independent social audits and also give knowledge about formal protective mechanisms.…

When I plan and organise a meeting I have to ensure everything is taken into consideration in order to help guarantee the meeting runs smoothly and everything is as the Councillors and officers expect it to be. First on the list is to ensure a room has been booked and if it hasn’t to book a room for the appropriate time and ensure there is sufficient parking available for the Councillors and any external officers. I do this by calling Mouchel and booking sufficient spaces to comply with the amount of people it is needed for. This information is then sent over to our receptionists to put out a sign in the morning of the meeting to hold the spaces for the time required and this acts as a sign post for the officers who are unsure where they have been allocated as there names will be on the sign. For some meetings Lunch vouchers are required as it can sometimes go on all day. For example, Health Scrutiny Committee for Lincolnshire has a formal meeting from 10a.m. – 1p.m. and continues on after lunch with an informal workshop for Councillors. To issue these lunch vouchers a template is printed off for the required amount of people and signed by a manager or section leader for example; my team leader would sign these if I required them for a meeting.…

When following the rules and regulations it is most important when this is done to not overlook laws which are meant to be looked at which you will need to be fully aware of when working as a professional in a health and social care setting. This is when a rule or a process is taken place and then agreed on according to the law. As professionals you should be aware of the legislations and the regulations in order to deal with the situations if they we’re to occur. The strength for this is that it helps individuals to be able to deal the situation according to the law that is written as legislation. Which wouldn’t be classed as a illegal and then take to court however for the weakness this would be that sometimes professionals do not take this seriously or even know the policy which becomes very hard for them and unable to take control of the situation therefore if help is needed you should speak to your manager or supervisor for more information.…

The policy works by using a red dot that is placed on the patients file or care plan, it tells the nurse what patients need extra assistance with their meals. When the time comes for the ward to be at Protected Meal Times, the nurse would ask if the patient is ready for their meal, they would ensure that they are sitting comfortably and correctly. By doing this, it gives the nurse the opportunity to communicate with the patient and to give them a choice in their care. If the patient needs to be fed, the nurse would sit beside them at eye level showing respect and treated them as an equal. The nurse would take care in ensuring that the food isn’t too hot as they could burn themselves. While the patient is getting assisted with their eating, the nurse will take care in what conversation they initiate as to let the patient eat in peace without the risk of choking. It is very important for the nurse to keep the patient hydrated and if the patient required it to give them a drink. An important rule that the nurse must follow is to ensure that the patient is not nil by mouth as this could compromise the patient if they are to have surgery or a procedure that requires them to fast. By following these steps the nurse is ensure that they are providing good communication skills and showing respect towards the patient. When the nurse is assisting the patient in eating they are still maintaining the patient’s dignity and…
